@@johnbacon8394 all to often as well, actually more often, drugs,and smoking is what ruins voices. Any "downer" starts taking your lung depth fast. Smoking long term depending on the drug will churn up a nasty rasp therefore taking away volume and pitch change. It's mostly drugs folks. Few singers lose voice from singing.

I just wish that he sung more naturally on the newest album, because he's really capable of it. Sadly it really sounded overly mixed and auto tuned. I want the 2005-2009 TSTM back

Im a straight man but when God gave out gifts he blessed Jared Leto. Looks, voice an acting.

Sometimes I forgot how much I love Jared’s voice. 30STM got me into alternative music. I wish they still did more songs like this and like Beautiful Lie era, but regardless their talent and uniqueness is incredible!! Watch their MTV unplugged live performance of this song and of U2’s Where the Streets Have No Name, I mean what a cover!!

Jared Leto and Brendon Urie are my top two male singers. I swear I could listen to Jared sing all day.

Most underrated band ever. Jared Letto got it all: the looks, the voice, the acting talent... you can name it! He is perfection!

I saw Thirty Seconds to Mars last summer, they were one of those bands on my bucket list. Such an experience! I think Jared's voice is just great!

I remember Jared being asked if he could only do one of his arts for the rest of his life, what would he do? He said that it would be music, no question, that he would drop acting completely. It's easy to see why. Just awe inspiring. His voice is the ultimate instrument.

their debut album was EPIC - it had a great sound and not 1 bad track on it - their 2nd album was also fantastic with a softer sound thatn the 1st but very intelligent songs with great melodies - i really liked this band but then came their 3rd and it was down hill from there - they stopped being original and bowed to their label....

I remember "The Kill" blowing up from their 2nd album "A Beautiful Lie" in 2005. Great album. There are still some of their newer songs I like. "Hurricane" is one of my all time favorites. I still love their first album, but their 2nd one is what gave them commercial success.

@@lkc1790 yeah its just a matter of taste- both 1st and 2nd albums are great and offer something different from track to track. i actually saw them live once and i felt that i was at a "boy-band" gig because the ratio of young girls to guys was 3:1 - thats what happens when the front man makes the girls wet their panties LOL

I think My So Called Life was MTVs first scripted show. I remember when he was in a band in the show and the chick singer froze during their first gig so he sang. The Ramones, Sedated.

@@rileysretirement-road3998 It was actually an ABC show first, MTV ran re-runs after ABC canceled it, but I think most people saw it on MTV first, because they played it more often and actually gave the show so press, unlike ABC, who didn't really understand the show, it was ahead of it's time. That episode is one of my faves, he sings in other episodes as well, but his voice was quite different then, plus he was playing a character, but the episode you're talking about is such a great one! 😊✌🏻

30 seconds to mars been around for years, I'm more a fan of the early stuff they did, their 1st album the self titled one from early 2000's is awesome, so is beautiful lie the 2nd. I still listen to both CDs in the car

Hey Rebecca, can you believe this man is 50!?!?! SIGH..... I had the rare privilege of attending a very small coffee shop kind of performance where he did partially acoustic and then did some other songs with the full band, the drummer is his brother btw, but he sounds exactly the same here as he did there. He's incredibly intentional in the way that he articulates and how he chooses his vowel placement and he is just an incredible artist.

This is the first time I've heard him perform music/sing. He is definitely a performer who molds his talent into his work. very unique. xx

I heard their song "From yesterday" in 2005 when it was released, and I've been hooked on 30stm ever since. They're one of my faves to listen to, because Jared's voice is really nice and comfortable to listen to and they have such great lyrics~ I saw them live a few years ago, and it was an amazing experience. I hope I can see them again soon!

Lately I've been watching " vocal coaches react" videos and I was wondering if I'm gonna find any reacting to my favorite band and how would it feel, well here you are, well done, I really enjoyed watching this. Having seeing the video before (obviously, well just about 30490 times), it was fun waiting for you to react to his voice. Also FYC they've been around for more than 20 years as a band (since 1998 with the first self titled album released in 2002),but Jared and Shannon have been playing music their whole lives, since they were kids. Words aren't enough to discribe what their music means to me, it's so much more than just music or just a band, I could be writing forever saying how I love every song, every performance, every lyric, every note of every song of them but anyways. Thanks for sharing, hope you'll be listening to more of their songs anytime sooon (inside joke).

Jared is/was a singer first and actor second. 30STM has been around for sooooo long. I saw them and met Jared and Shannon last summer. What an amazing experience! I would HIGHLY recommend seeing them live!!! This is one of the earlier hits. Love love From Yesterday and The Kill. He does like "screamo" on those. Check them out. He... he... dodged the best part of the song... I can’t feel the violence of a hurricane without the scream on “DO YOU REALLY WANT...” As beautiful as the acoustic is, so much of the integral heart of the song is gone (the heartbeat too)

I was first exposed to 30 Seconds from Mars, in a programming outro for Wimbledon many years ago, they was going to commercial and network used a clip from the song *Kings and Queens* by that band as a background audio and what you were seeing was just the tennis players leaving the stadium to get in their rides back to the hotel (or wherever) and in and unto itself it was just some candid video footage of them, but with Jared Leto's voice giving such a majestic vocal range, it immortalized those players and that moment in my memory.

I'm not sure Rebecca is ready for the uncensored Hurricane video. LOL I was only because I knew of Jared's dark body of work since Basil, Requiem For Dream...and then as Jordan Catalano. His acting is great but his music is phenomenal....and it just hurts that he has to be so darn hot too. He's 2 years older than me and I am still waiting for my "Jared" out there but doubt it. God broke the mold with him.
