Your comment is quite arrogant. I guess it’s just a Filipino thing. You’re in no position to criticize Tania since she is a professional. She doesn’t need to take NOTES. You’re not on her level. The problem with Filipinos, they feel like Filipino artists can’t make mistakes.

Thank you, Coach Tania, for this reaction, honest and straightforward from a vocal coach perspective. I thought at first that you wouldn't like it, because of some concerns you mentioned, about vocal fatigue, vocal hygiene, etc. but towards the end when you said that you are still amazed by Mori and her performance, giving this one a 10 out of 10, I gave out a smile of relief, just like what Mori did at the end of the song. 😁 If you find the time, please watch her vlog in her channel about this Wish Bus performance. She was not actually at her 100% during that day, coming from so many singing engagements, events, shows, etc. it was understood that she was fatigued, physically and vocally. A lot of us actually expressed our concerns for her, her health and well-being. But that's Morissette, being a professional that she is, keeping her commitments, and fully dedicated to her craft and her fans and supporters. And the outcome of that is this, despite her condition, yes we can hear some raspiness and breathiness, but nonetheless delivered amazingly this difficult song in that sitting position (it's in the Wish Bus, that is the standard setting there). You can find the English translation of the lyrics somewhere in the comments section of the video you reacted to, so that you can understand and appreciate better the message of this emotion-packed and heart-rending song, challenging and demanding vocally but was slayed by Morissette and made it popular and trending. 🥰

Hi Tania,she's under the weather during that time and she even had a vlog about it before she performed on the wish bus.

She has a vlog and this day was covered on that video and she said her voice that day was not in perfect condition because of the back to back shows she had. If you watch that vlog, i think you’ll appreciate this performance and her commitment to her work. But yeah she needs to rest and look after herself sometimes.

But overall I still love this performance of her, and I Love coach Tania for being a professional coach 🙂💕

@@enigma5014 She was not 100% okay when she recorded this. If you've watched her vlog about this, she said she only took steroids earlier (before this recording) to get her voice back, as she had several performances before this. :)

We understand your point as a vocal coach, you are a teacher. You want people to learn not only how to sing but how to take care of their voice. And Morissette is a performer, she has responsibility to the people she commit to, fans waiting for her to show up, events expecting her to perform. Morrisette already knows that, she mentioned that in an interview on Waleska Herrera's channel that she has taken the time to make sure she rest her voice properly and do not overbook her schedule. This was something she realized after 10 years of constantly performing. She has learned to say no in appearing in events especially when she's tired. Therefore, we will definitely see her sing for along time.

There is a video where she discussed being tired when she recorded this plus the need to take steroids for some medical condition that she has been recovering from. She was right back on track however with her Bruno Mars evolution medley.

Morrissette has a better live version of this song. In her vlog on the day of her wishbus performance...she had limited high notes...she was prescribed to take steriods. Her highest notes after the modulation were better in the other live version compared to the wishbus performance. She actually avoided the last few high notes in the wishbus performance. But that's the life of a performer, sometimes you will be under the weather...you just have to adjust and still deliver what is expected of you.

She sings in one of the PH dialects which are very percussive. You also need to consider that there are many "vintage" PH artists who sing in a similar way, or shall we say PH style and still do. I dare say that English (US) singing theories do not translate into other cultures. She sits by choice a lot of the time. Here she has her legs crossed :):)

In her vlog, she admitted that she underwent some sort of treatment just to be able to sing on this day in the Wish Bus. She was really tired and really had a hectic schedule because of her nonstop guesting, gigs and even shows that she did almost everyday. I understand your concern about her voice and yes, on this day, she's really not on her 100%. She really took out everything and made the wise choices to dodge some of the high parts of this song. Nonetheless, she nailed this performance with her best.

Morissette is written as Amon, Morissette is pronounced as Amen :) There are many vocal coaches/teachers who react to Morissette. No one is looking at how to make high notes, how many octave whistle tones, or where to belting, where to mix voice or falsetto. They just focus on enjoying the performance and teaching their students what this amazing singer is doing :) Thank you Tania.

Check out her Live Band version of this song, it was a better performance imo. She spoke of have vocal fatigue in this performance from being on tour.

Philippines singer its natural here sitting down while singing its not hard to do here,but in western abd other country cant do that while singing high notes even the famous singer cant built wile sitting down.but here in philippines its normal, mariah celine cant sing while sitting down in whole song..i saw them they like standing while builting. .but kudos to our mori..❤❤❤

No shit storm. As you now know, she was vocally fatigued and actually took steroids in order to perform on the wishbus. Classic overworking and in true Morissette fashion, she never backs down. She should have postponed it and rested but she still sounded surprisingly good despite the circumstances.

8:55 i think if mori's really struggling, then she would stand up to sing :) you see different versions of her singing this song, where she's standing with the band, as well as her playing the piano... so i think she knows her own body whether or not she can do it or which would be more efficient. perhaps for this she just wanted to sing it more casually so she's sitting cross legged. it's like me when i run long distances, i would know my own body of when i feel tired so i'd need to chill out on certain parts of the route. but yes im not a vocal coach or a long distance coach, so i totally get ya. long distance coach would probably tell me to change my form here and there etc. anyways. have a great day!
