Hi Darlings,
It is my pleasure to bring to you my latest creation an analysis and reaction to kickstart my heart by motley crue.
Wikipedia describes the Mötley Crüe as
"...an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, lead guitarist Mick Mars and lead singer Vince Neil. Mötley Crüe has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. They have also achieved seven platinum or multi-platinum certifications, nine Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart (including 1989's Dr. Feelgood, which is Mötley Crüe's only album to reach number one), twenty-two Top 40 mainstream rock hits, and six Top 20 pop singles. The band experienced several short-term lineup changes in the 1990s and 2000s; these included the introduction of vocalist John Corabi (who was Neil's replacement from 1992 to 1996) and drummers Randy Castillo and Samantha Maloney, both of whom filled in for Lee following his departure from Mötley Crüe in 1999; he returned to the band in 2004."
The track "Kickstart My Heart" is a song by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, originally released on their 1989 album, Dr. Feelgood. Released as the album's second single in 1989, "Kickstart My Heart" reached #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States in early 1990. The track has been used in various media, and was also included on the soundtrack album to the 2019 biographical film The Dirt and the official trailer of Battlefield 2042 remixed by 2WEI."
Vince Neil - vocals
Mick Mars - guitars
Nikki Sixx - bass
Tommy Lee - drums

Most people who are not well knowledgeable on the band don't know the origin of the song. Correct me if I am wrong though. This song was inspired by the drug over dose of Nikki Six. The "Kick start my heart" part is about the times the medics had to shock Nikki's heart when it stopped several times.

Yup, THOSE were the days! All EIGHTEEN of them. For Vehicular Manslaughter. And his record company paid all civil damages. Must be nice, entitlement like that. At least Vince admitted he got a laughably insufficient sentence. Great song, tho.

I’m not sure it’s correct to say there was ever a point when Vince could sing. Even here, under the strict regime of perfectionist producer Bob Rock, and after god knows how many takes, and countless vocal overdubs, he sounds a bit wonky. Of course these days he doesn’t even try, and would be ashamed to cash in on those tickets if he knew what shame was.

Rebecca, The vocal FX applied to guitar is the so called "talk box": sound travells from guitar speake thru a pvc hose pointed to player's vocal cavity (the hose cuts some freqs produceing low fi sound). There, vocal cavity is used like a human wah to change the resonance, like when you talk open Wide just in front of a fan proppeller. Finally, the resoulting sound is reamped by the vocal mic attached to the hose in front of the players mouth. Freaking guitar gizmo.

It's not a motor bike. That, my darling, is Mick Mars' guitar. His guitar has a Floyd Rose bridge and it changes pitch depending on how hard you push down on the bar. He made an illusion of a motorcycle shifting gear. A cool addition to a kickass song. The story behind the song is Nikki Six (bassist) had overdosed on heroin and was legally declared dead for two minutes because he had no pulse. One of the paramedics that arrived on the scene was a Motley Crue fan and he injected two shots of adrenaline into Nikki's heart and he woke up. Nikki left the hospital that same night and overdosed AGAIN! But he luckily woke up the next morning.

A good vocal coach will tell him to make a come back for a rock vocalist planning a big long tour you gotta train DAILY (by doing correct exercises plus singing songs) for at least 6 - 12 months before you can even come anywhere near close to top form but these guys think they can just order their vocal cords to cooperate instantly to sing at an acceptable professional level.

When I saw Crue at the US Festival in '83, they'd already released their debut album, Too Fast For Love, a couple of years earlier, and Shout At The Devil would be released later in '83. Their performance at the festival in front of over 300,000 people was great, and after that day they quickly got more well-known. When you consider that Nikki had put the band together only two years before it seems crazy how fast everything happened.

I've seen the band at least 6-7 times and only once was his performance even passable and that was at the Ozzfest 2010 in Devore, CA and that wasn't even "really good" it was just "alright". If you are looking for him to sound even remotely like he does on album at a live show today you will be heavily disappointed. A friend of mine says the only one worse is David Lee Roth...
