Hi Cameron! From what I have read Guy did briefly to the U.S. however the agent in the U.S. wanted him to sing something that he didn’t agree with. Guy is a Christian and perhaps the song went against his beliefs! If any of this information is incorrect, I apologise! He came fifth at Eurovision one year! Thank you for your comment! I’m Australian and have a special love for my fellow Aussie musicians/countryman and I love listening to music and Guy Sebastian is just a legend who exploded on the scene. This song shows how he deserved his win in 2000s on idol. This song hits hard and how can you not tear up listening to it. We all have pain and if you liste. To this is brings that pain out but helps us so much. Because we know guy loves to help and make us feel better through music

Cannot rave enough about this Aussie artist! So lovely to see/hear his gift being recognised - you are right, he should be bigger outside Australia. He wrote this song as a result of a family member's struggle with depression. I would highly recommend you listen to "Choir" - live at the ARIA's (it won song of the year in 2019) and "Battle Scars" - live on the Homefront (his biggest hit outside Australia). Apart from his stunning vocals, the best thing about Guy is his humility.

It was actually a fellow musician's suicide, I believe, someone whom Guy considered family. This was what he did to spread the word and danger in his "Brother's" honour.

So proud to be an Aussie, Guy won Australian Idol back in 2003 and now is the most successful male recording artist in Australian music history. He is brilliant onstage, seen him 3 times, but is also genuine, kind and really humble. Damn good human right there x ❤

I am obsessed with his voice. He demonstrates a great deal of emotion.

We never 'turn down' Guy here in Aussieland. He's a Master Class and a thoroughly decent 'guy' too. The rest of the world is just catching on to this massive talent. Justifiably. Enjoy!

Guy not only won Australian Idol, but when he represented Oz at World Idol, Simon Cowell said he probably had the best voice, but he took exception to Guy's look back then, when he had his fro... hardly fair I would have thought!

I have been watching Guy since his Australia The Voice 2003 win, and to see him as a youngster then, he has surely matured into a handsome young man, very loving husband to Jules and father to his two beautiful boys. O.M.G. he has it going on and should be more recognized, world over. But that's okay, he's honed his craft well over the years and has come into his own rights. still he is one of the best male singers i know . Even now after is well known singer in Australia and a judge on the voice there for many years , i feel like is to underrated . I think if he would have been born and sing in USA he would have been up there with Ed and Sam Smith , Lewis ...

Excellent. From a young age, Guy has thrown himself into arranging the songs that he sings. Without wishing to be simpy, Guy Sebastian is blessed IMO by the musical gods, a smart cookie, and a good bloke.

Great review..and your right he should well known in the UK but sadly so many people haven't heard of him.this song and performance are amazing and IV introduced so many people to guys music via this song and all loved it.

Don't know if your aware but he was a vocal coach before he was discovered. Another GREAT singer and good guy to come out of Australia.

The background of his friend committing suicide makes the song even more poignant. I just discovered Guy a couple of months ago and I love his singing. Cannot stop listening to his songs lately, especially this one, he is such a great song writer and singer. Glad he's getting more recognition around the world. Check out his duet with Johnny Manuel on the voice Australia, amazing.

What makes this song even greater is the fact that Guy Sebastian co-wrote it, so he feels every word.

I love this 'live' version but I suggest you also see his video as it's received critical acclaim and has been nominated for 'Video of the Year in our Australian ARIA Awards. He won Song of the Year last year with 'Choir' another stunning song he wrote to celebrate the life of a long time friend and band member who took his own life. Standing With You. The song was inspired by a family member who was suffering with mental health and was brave enough to speak up and share his battle with depression

You would have to stick the entire T.R.U.T.H. album which is a master piece of sounds and talent (and I am not even australian but Colombian hehe), Guy is one of the best male voices there is out there you should check out his entire discography since the time he won the first Australian Idol to now and appreciate the growth and maturity in his vocals.
