He is my wife's favorite singer. She goes crazy when she listens to him. In fact, on her birthday, I bought her Juan Gabriel's entire discography. I love to observe all the emotions that Juan Gabriel's music provokes in her.

Juan Gabriel had every obstacle against him growing up. But he became one of the most beloved legends in Mexico. A incredibly talented artist.RIP

Juan Gabriel is my favorite artist of all time. He is undoubtedly the most impactful Latin American singer songwriter of all time. His contribution to music all throughout Latin America was groundbreaking. Not only did he contribute to music but he broke cultural barriers with his more flamboyant lifestyle. It is said that every single person in Mexico knows three songs; the national anthem, las mananitas (birthday song), and a Juan Gabriel song. Querida has to be my favorite song of all time. I was born and raised in California but with two immigrant parents, Juan Gabriel and other great Latin artists were all I grew up listening to. This song holds a special place in my heart.

We all latinos grew up with him, he's such a legend! amazing genious song writer, an amazing unique singer, amazing performer... like wow! please watch any perfomance of him live, "en vivo bellas artes" is a mervelous concert of him

Can I just say I’m so jealous of you! I, like most Latinos my age, we grew up listening to him since we were babies. His talent was lost on us because we weren’t conscious enough to understand the brilliance. We of course love him but we’ve grown accustomed to his genius. To be able to experience him for the first time as an adult, omg omg 😱. I love that you love him!!!!

Art is expression, and that guy was the personification of art. A music genius, composer, his interpretations were that good and passionate because he wrote every note, every lyric.

Great reaction. Juanga is missed dearly. I had the chance to see him live and he kept the crowd on their feet dancing for the entire almost 3 hour show. Amazing song writer with more than 1300 songs written and performed by a long list of artists around the world…!! ! Juan Gabriel is not only a great singer but a great writer, he writes all his own songs and for many others. I think part of the reason we can feel his music is that he feels it and it just irradiates from within. He can be a little theatrical though =) But his shows are quite a treat, you never really know when they will end.

I'm 45 yrs old now and been listening to Jaun since I was 6. This was my first song I learned of his lol he's amazing!!

This is one of those songs that is so good it got massively overplayed at it's height and many folks got sick of it it! LOL! Decades later, I can appreciate it again as it is an amazing song. To answer your question about whether or not he was an actor, he did make a few movies; mostly fluff about the same level as the ones Elvis did. He was a great showman and a prolific songwriter in addition to being a talented singer.

Many of my family members remember seeing him singing on street corners in Juarez when he was a teenager. He was a city treasure

Legend is right. Growing up my parents used to see him perform on tv in Mexico .and go to his legendary concerts In he's prime. We just didn't know and care we were to young. But for decades he became part of Mexican pop culture . Now that I'm much older I can actually say this guy was great.
