The most complicated way I've ever seen to get a software! What were they thinking?

Downloading VMware Workstation Pro feels like embarking on an epic quest in a video game. Seriously, when free software for personal use needs a full KZread video tutorial, you know something's off. Windows Hyper-V works just fine for me. No thanks, VMware. And I bet they'll bombard you with deals and promos to upgrade with tons of ads. Watching this video, even though the host tries to be serious, it's almost a joke how many clicks and hoops you have to jump through to download the software. Sometimes, even big corporations show us how not to do things. This video is a blueprint for how not to set up a download link.

1) thank you for this walkthru. 2) (a question I haven't found an answer to)...so I downloaded Pro to a PC that didn't already have the free version (only had virtualbox) and works fine. My question is, what about a PC that already has the workstation free version, and some VMs already created? Do I need to uninstall the old/free version first? Will the .vmdk's already created just automatically open up (import) in the new pro free version? Should I install new version on top of/with old version to test compatibility/importability of existing VMs/vmdk's ? Much thanks to anyone with suggestions. 👍💯

*NOTE* sometime when you try to download it you will be redirected to page saying "invalid order id" just try a few times to download it will eventually start the download!

yes

it however ain't how it was before were we had gpu passtrough they pulled that made it a paid thing and added it to what they call sphere microsoft has gpu passthrough aswel in hyper-v but they pulled it due to a security flaw and they did not fix it no just jonked it out of the program completely now the only real option is to either assign a gpu through device mapping or use powershell which gives you a rather limited gpu passthrough or just go linux as from what i heard it has gpu passthrough build in

for vm linux kvm is actually better

I think they have discontinued the vmware that's why we can't even download it from it's website but we can download it from the way you have suggested to us

I've had Pro for years via a viable product key source, get hip lmaooo. It's a great product but it is very resource hungry so you better have more than half decent machine to run it.
