VMP Anthology: The Story of Zamrock Mini-Documentary
Ойын-сауық
Learn the story of Zambia's independence and the rock soundtrack its citizens created.
VMP Anthology: The Story of Zamrock is an 8 album set that Vinyl Me, Please created in partnership with Now Again Records and Strawberry Rain Music to highlight and celebrate one of the most intriguing and complete music scenes to arise in the latter half of the 20th century. Featuring 8 albums, 7 of which have never been reissued in their original form, The Story of Zamrock reflects a decade long journey that Now-Again Records Eothen Alapatt and Strawberry Rain’s Jason Connoy and Calum MacNaughton have taken, delving into the Zamrock scene, finding the last musicians left standing, researching, documenting and legitimately reissuing the uber-rare albums originally released in Zambia’s cities in the 1970s.

I just recently found Zamrock and it is fantastic! peace, love, rock n roll from Sweden!
Hey this is huge. These were big stars then. Glad that I have the opportunity to hear their story. I was under 10 year old when thw music was made. I grow up listening to it on the National Radio station. We only have 2 stations then. Could hear older men talk about the place in Lusaka called Star Market though.. its a long road

Great footage from musicians I've never heard interviewed. WITCH FTW.
I remember thinking what really could Zambian artists offer when our President declared that we should have 90% Zambian music on our airwaves.Boy,did I get it wrong.Zamrock was the best ever music that we had and the competition was stiff.Paul Ngozi, the Witch,Rikki Ililonga,Keith Mlevhu etc gave us the best music ever.Kudos to you all...!

Beautiful
I wish I was in this era
Is there a full version of that live Ngozi Family performance out on the interwebs?
Is the dialogue intentionally missing?
