My dear, the fact that you have even posted any videos this past month when you have been so sick and in the hospital is amazing. I don't care if they're late, and I would completely understand if you didn't post at all. Give yourself some credit because you did amazingly well.

Christina!!!! Put the brakes on girl! You just got out of a lengthy DIFFICULT stay in the hospital! Multiple surgeries, on and on and on.... You said you are weak too. You seriously need to get your strength back and take care of yourself for a while so you can start functioning.

So happy you are home! I am just starting my EDS journey. I was diagnosed a few weeks ago with EDS, after ten years of trying to overpower a chiari malformation. I've delayed surgery on my neck bc I'm so scared, but seeing you gives me courage. I'm going through the rounds of specialists now (cardio echo tomorrow), and I'm guessing I'll end up having chiari and fusion surgery next year. As far as I know, I will go back to Cleveland clinic bc I have a retroflexed odontoid, which makes ordinary zipper surgery not an option. It all gets so complicated and scary. Also, I really wish I had your mom. She's amazing! ETA: I forgot to say I found your vlog by searching for EDS braces. I'm anxious to find devices that let me walk without falling, sleep without wrenching my neck, etc. I'm so grateful you've shared your experiences, and in a way that I don't have to read tons of material. My brain stops processing after a few long paragraphs, so videos are a blessing lol! Thank you for making me feel a little less like 1 in 5,000!

Christina, it’s so good to have you back! I know you will get a much needed proper sleep now that your back in your own bed. I honestly don’t remember the very first vlog I watched of yours, but I know this vlog for me is the best ever! The reason, we’ll...this trip to the hospital had me pretty scared, and I hope I don’t ever have to worry like that about you again! This stay really had me worried..I prayed so much, Shed a tear or two, so very afraid. Christina I hate that you struggle so, things not doing what they are saposta do or breaking or coming out of place etc etc. I just wish there was a magic word or something, click your heals twice then poof....your all better! Your a pretty special person Christina, to many people, including complete strangers. You just have that something special to where the world just falls in love with you as a person. You could be having a totally miserable day, but you somehow find the strength to make someone else smile, or give someone the hope they were looking for. This world would never be the same if you were not in it....so just saying, you better plan on sticking around for a very VERY long time! Wow, I do have a tendency go on and on so I better stop. Again, welcome 🏡 You sure have plenty of fun things to keep you busy :) Have a great week ahead, and same to your mom..welcome home! Peace~

That first breath of fresh air leaving the hospital is always amazing, so glad to see that you finally got to go home :) I found your videos about a year ago sitting in bed with my own chronic illness...they’ve been inspiration and comfort to me that I can keep going and also that rest is okay. Love the painting!

So glad you are home! Honestly, walking around in stocking feet to feel the ground is really good for your brain and walking! Smell the things, look far distances, all the good stuff. Your eyes are probably tired from staring at the close walls of the hospital room. So glad you love rosemary, I love it too!

Hi Christina, so glad to see you finally out of the hospital! I'm a fellow spoonie - I suffer from severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and am usually bedbound due to the vertigo, nausea and fatigue from walking and standing. I started watching you videos maybe 6 months ago - I found the EDS video and then went back at started the vlogs from the beginning! I think I finally caught up around week 80. You also introduced me to The Frey Life and I'm now addicted to Mary, Peter and Ollie! Thanks to yourself, The Frey Life and Jessica Kellgren-Fozard (another KZreadr with a disability), I finally got the confidence to request a wheelchair when I went to IKEA yesterday and I was blown away by how kind the staff were! I was super anxious they'd tell me no or make me explain my illnesses (don't invisible illnesses suck!) but the whole experience was really validating. My partner and I had the best time - I actually got to feel human again without having to worry about my energy levels or collapsing as soon as I got to the car, and he didn't have to wait while I walked super slow or had to take rests every thirty seconds. I never would have had the confidence to consider a wheelchair without having seen your blogs and all the hard work you put into advocating for people with disabilities and invisible illnesses. A massive thank you for all that you do, my world is a brighter place for having you in it :)

The first ever video I watched of yours was one of your living with EDS series. It was the importance of a diagnosis & early intervention. I found it on May 2017, when I was first diagnosed, and have been watching you ever since. You are the highlight of my week. Be gentle with yourself, Christina. All my healing wishes from all the surgeries...

My first video was your rehab story! Your videos are so uplifting to me, and you are such a lovely person to "spend time with" through these vlogs. Chronic illness is hard, but having people like you and The Frey Life bringing light to it, being honest about it, and just living life, is so valuable. Watching your videos is healing for many people, I think. Much love!

The video that caught my attention was, “All about my feeding tube.” It was around 2 years ago. The reason why it caught my attention is because I also have a feeding tube. I don’t have EDS but I also have many rare diseases. You and I have many issues that are similar. I also have a port, I used to have a PICC, I have a wheelchair, I go to PT, (I might be getting you confused with someone else but I’m also hard of hearing. But I do remember that you also depend on closed captioning. I love closed captioning and subtitles. The bond that you have with your mother is so much like the bond that I have with my mother and I. We call each other like a team.

The first video of yours that I found was in August called "Living with EDS: Mast Cell Activation Syndrome / Vogmask Giveaway." I came down with adult onset of Cutaneous Mastocytosis (CM) in 2006 but was just given a proper diagnosis in Feb 2018 so I have been researching anything and everything that I can get my hands on about mast cells and came across your videos. I just adore and admire your uplifting spirit! Your vlogs remind me that there are a lot of people out there living day by day with incurable diseases, but can live with smiles on our faces. I will be praying for you and your family! I also wanted to thank you for being so articulate when sharing your health information. Getting & giving proper information, absorbing & sharing oodles of knowledge and maintaining a strong self advocating mindset leads to healthier living, keep up the good work! God speed in your recovery!

I've been watching since May 2016, the first video was "Living with EDS: Journey to a diagnosis", and have been along for the ride ever since. My husband even watches now. I knew I had EDS since 2012. I was diagnosed with hEDS in 2014, but unfortunately I live in East coast Canada and there's little to no help available to people like us at the moment (we're about 10 years behind). I've had Drs tell me that I'm "outta their pay grade" or "just too complicated". At this point I've been bed ridden for 3+ years. I also currently have no health insurance.... it's been rough. I have an amazing family that I love very much and they do their best to support me anyway they can. But your videos have brough a different kind of support and have ment the world to me. Through think and thin you always manage to smile and look at the bright side of life. You are a pioneer for us suffering through the battlefield that is EDS, and you give me hope that someday the techniques you've had access to and in some cases even help develop, will become available to me. (Drs around here havnt even heard of saline therapy for goodness sakes!) It's been a long road and will continue to be. Your fight helps give me the desire to keep fighting; to keep advocating for myself and Educate those who wish to learn. Thank you for all that you are and all that you do💞

I actually found you first by your shunt video. I was diagnosed with left vertebral artery dominant dolichoecstasia along with chiari 1 and idiopathic intracranial hypertension and degenerative disc disease with ruptured discs throughout my spine. I was already diagnosed with hyperadrenergic pots, congestive heart failure and 24 other not fun diagnoses before hand. Needless to say it has been a very long and uphill battle. I was trying to find out more about VBD possible treatments when I found you. My children and I love to curl up and watch your videos together. The diagnosis of VBD doesnt afford me a whole lot more time on this earth with my little ones so we try to make the best out of what we have left. Laying in bed is about all my body affords me anymore. Thank you for doing what you do and being a bright light beacon for us that struggle in the darkness too! It helps give us strength to keep battling on. Keep on keeping on. Love and prayers continue for you and your sweet family.

I watched that playlist first for educational purposes but then connected on a deeper level of understanding and care for what you are going through and that none of us are alone in this. I am slowly getting through your Vlogging videos in order and just watched your 1 year (with the exception of watching your recent few weeks as they’ve come out of concern for you). I’m sure you hear it a lot but you are pretty darn amazing for what you do for out community Christina!

So happy you're home and got to go to the theater. :) I love your painting and the verse you chose. How I found your vlog was after having cranial-cervical fusion surgery (a year ago), I was searching for information on the neck brace we share in common. (I have broken 2 and am on brace #3.) You are such a blessing. Thank you for sharing your life experiences and helping others.

I am glad you are more comfortable with the new neck brace. It looks like a great problem solver for the pressure on the metal. I first found you from your "Whats in my bag spoonie edition" video. It was the first time I found someone do a relatable whats in my bag and have been here since.

Your video was recommended to me by KZread. I think it was from watching Clair’s videos. Although I do not have EDS I do have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and various other autoimmune problems. Watching you be so strong and gracious reminds me that although chronic pain sucks it can be handled. Your an amazing young lady. Thank you for sharing your life.

I started with week 68 and got hooked and now I've watched almost all of them. I'm was a nurse and never heard of EDS and was so interested with all aspects of this disease. I've also had cervical and lumbar fusions and going back in for another cervical fusion next month. So I'm just so inspired by your positive attitude through everything that you have to endure. GOD bless you and your family.

Maybe it was about your diagnosis journey? Unsure. It's crazy how it's already been 100 weeks! Congratulations! Thank you for being so informative and positive. The zebra life is hard, but you handle it with grace and inspiration ❤️

I don't remember which video was the first that I watched. But I found you on youtube while looking for others dealing with autoimmune issues, POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) and other general ailments as such. I deal with POTS and its nice to be connected to others in similar situations. I am so happy you're back home, that has to feel really nice.

Regarding matcha: Know that it's highly caffeinated, and it's a great substitute for coffee. It can be whisked into hot water or cold water and drunk plain - it tastes like a strong green tea. Latte: a couple of ounces of matcha (mixed stronger than usual in hot water; think espresso strength matcha) fill the rest with hot foamed milk or just hot milk if you don't have a milk foamer. That's the base recipe, from that a bit of vanilla and some sweetener would be good addition, maybe some cinnamon. Smoothies - whatever goes. Almond milk (dairy, rice, etc), banana, berries, and matcha is good. It would go well in green smoothies too. I can't imagine it being bad in anything, honestly.

Please be kind to your self and Lt your body rest. So many operations in such a short time is a big stress on your body. Give it time. And please don't stress about the vlogs, I happily watch what ever you post when ever you post it. I have watched your videos since before you started blogging every week. You are in my thoughts, wishing you well my friend. Glad to have seen more of your loving mother these past weeks but I have missed Luren, your dad and your cute dog (whos name I can't spell). Please rest and be well and I will see you when I see you (no stress). Much love and healing thoughts ❤❤❤❤❤
