We had to fill out a paper with our info and ranking then it got moved online so if anything crashed they had the info still

Of course!!! I was curious too, especially in my situation, so a lot of PNMs knew who I was already but I didn’t openly tell my girls or anyone what chapter I was in. I left my social media the same but if they knew, they knew! I didn’t want more people knowing so I didn’t say.

As someone who went through formal recruitment in the Fall I found this video to be so interesting! Great video as always!

this was so interesting! im from a small school and we're the only panhellenic sorority on campus. I did formal in the fall and our "rounds" was just my chapter. we didn't even have rho gams at all!

I go to a tiny school where we have 4 sororities with about 60 people total, 3 days of recruitment and each set of rounds is only 2 hours long. Seeing what the process is like at such a different school is crazy. I can’t even imagine recruitment being that intense. I need to start appreciating the Rho Gammas more!

I’m planning on going to college and a sorority in America (i know, everything is going to cost me a lot of money, but I have a job so let’s pray😂) During rush week, people don’t have a home on gollege yet right? Where are they going during rush and where should I go? (I know it’s still 3 years but I wanna be prepared😌☺️) 💛💛💛💛

Girls who rush prior to the semester starting typically live in the dorms they were assigned as freshman. Each school works a little different though, so I can't say for sure what would happen at the school you decide to attend.

YES I do!!! we have TONS of sophomores and freshman rushing here at Ohio State! transfer students from other universities always rush sophomore year and campus change students coming from a regional campus and just freshman who didn't do it the first year do it their second

Is it hard getting into a sorority like do you have to pay to get in one or do you have to do a survey ?

you don't pay to GET IN, but you do have to pay to be in one. You get your "bid" first and then once you commit to the sorority then you'll pay yearly/monthly dues to be in the sorority. Every school may do the recruitment process differently, but there is typically a recruitment week/weekend/a few days to meet all the sororities and get to talk to them.

Hi! As a freshman you get your forms apart from the housing for the sorority houses, once I get my house what will happen to my dorm will I have to pay for both housing expenses and dorm expenses?

Different schools do it differently but typically your freshman year you dorm and then you can move into your sorority house your sophomore year. I would hope some schools wouldn't have you pay for both.

depending on the chapter and how many girls are in it and how many rooms there are in the house. ~typically~ anyone who WANTS to live in typically can because there's always people who wanna live out so there's usually always room!

I don’t understand why people say that sororities are SUPER expensive. The school I’m looking into, it costs an average of $10,000 for a dorm and meal plan per year. In a sorority the average cost of living in a sorority house, the meal plan, and the dues average $10,100 per year. Am I missing a cost? Is it just this specific college?

Let's break it down: Normal Student Tuition - $10,000 a year Dorm - $10,000 a year TOTAL - $20,000 a year Sorority Student Tuition - $10,000 a year Sorority dues - $6,000 a year (and this is just a normal year, when you first join your new member dues are probably double this for your first year) Sorority fees - $1,000 a year Living in the house - $10,000 a year Other sorority expenses like dresses for date party (most do 2 a year = $100) and formal (most do 2 a year = $100), clothes for TG's and grab a dates (we'll estimate 6 events a year = $240), mandatory t-shirts for events (we'll estimate 8 shirts a year = $280), if you get a little (or in my case 2 = $500), and that's just the basic costs, other stuff comes up. TOTAL - $28,220. soooooooo, on average, being in a sorority can be anywhere around or above (because some sororities cost more/do more events than others/live in better houses that cost more, etc.) $8,000 more a year, which adds up QUICK! and if you're paying for everything on your own (like I am) it is VERY expensive lol.

Ohio State does Spring recruitment as our main recruitment, we don't do recruitment in the fall. I'm not sure why, but that is just how OSU does it lol.

Do y’all as RHO GAMAs have to keep what sorority they are in a secret or they don’t care? Just wondering because ours has to be a secret till bid day

recruiting is definitely exhausting and hard too!!! They're both crazy, but in different ways. I honestly liked recruiting better than being a guide!!! I loved talking to people all day!

we do recruitment on the weekends!! so it doesn't interfere with classes! the friday that we start it does start around 5pm and if people do have class they're excused for that round or so but everything else is the weekend!!

well myself, and my other friends you saw, were Rho Gams so we helped all the freshman go through recruitment. We're already in sororities, so we aren't rushing lol.

Stinks that in PA sororities can’t have houses because they are considered a brothel 😑
