My Grandma taught me to just use the blunt side of a knife and hit the rim of the lid a few times and it opens easily xD

A pretty fool proof way of how I open a jar is wrapping a thicker rubber band around the lid of the jar and then twist. It should pop right off!

Sit the jar upside down (just enough to cover the lid) in a bowl of boiling water for about 30 secs. Opens every time

Just use the back sied of your knife and hit the top corner of lid. Do it couple times around the lid. It always work for me.

omg can we take a moment to mention how that avocado was absolute perfection. also, to open a jar, my dad taught me to hit a few sides of the rounded edges of the cap, forcefully with the sides of a kitchen scissor. it always works!! hope that helps, Weylie haha

Watching you talk to your grandma makes me miss mine so much but also bring back all the memories I had with her. She raised my brother and I since I was 4 while my parents worked. I lost her about 2 years ago due to cancer

*TIP TO OPEN JARS: Run the lid under hot water! The particles expand so the lid actually "becomes bigger" and loosens up...this way you don't have to wretch it open with another utensil, damaging the utensil and also the lid!*

Whenever I can't open a jar, I stick a butter knife up into the space between the jar and the lid to break the seal!!

I use a strait ¼" screw driver, no damage to utensils!

Way to open jars easily : Reason for jar not opening is b/c the pressure outside/inside jar is different. Best way is to equalize pressure is by getting air into the jar. Place a sharp object (the end of a scissor/knife : be careful!) between the lid and glass jar and kinda force the lid to create a small opening for air to get into the jar. (Since lid is usually tin, it does bend.) Lid opens like magic afterwards!

Love hearing you talk to your grandparents. Makes me heart feel so full. Been such a challenging year...but your videos has been such a light ❤️

pro tip: if you use a spoon to tuck it in between the jar and the lid (does it make sense?), and try to pry open it and let the air out, it makes it easier to open a jar.

For your stove vent problem... try using those furniture self stick felt pads and stick them on the vent so they stop making that flapping sound when it’s windy 🤗

Omg love the hair❤️❤️ Anyway saw the struggle with opening the lid, a trick from my mom that always works with those kinda lids. Turn your knife to the dull side then going around the lid and hit the rim of it. About 5 to 6 hits that creates a small dent then twist the lid open. Works every time, no man needed!!

Another tip to opening a jar: stab the top of the lid to release the pressure and it will loosen easily 🙂

Hi Weylie! To easily open a jar, you can tap the lid lightly on the counter (turn it while you tap it so you’re not just tapping one side) or hit the lid with the back of knife (maybe 2-3 times in different spots) and that should help!

Opening jar tip! If you have a thick rubber band place it around the lid and that’ll give your hand some grip then it’ll be easier to open 😀

There are so many tips already, but one that I haven't seen is the one my mom taught me; make vertical dents on the lid (ex. with the back of a knife) and it'll make the lid pop and easier to open. On another note; loved the vlog, as always hehe

Trick to open a jar, use a spoon to spoon to knock hard on 4 sides of the jar then use the hard of your palm to give a hard tap on the bottom of the jar to push the air up and it will easily pop open after.

The trick to opening jars is using the back of a cleaver and bashing the side of the lid (not the middle of the lid). You’ll hear the middle of the lid pop up.

Tip from working in hospo forever: stab the middle of the jar lid with a knife to put a hole in it. Makes it suuuuper easy to open the lid (and it's quick!). But only works if you don't want to put the lid back on the jar 😂

For the pasta jar, tap the lid only the lid very hard on tje ground, the hard hit will release the pressure on the jar and open easily!!!!! My french grandma taught me

to open a jar - take a bottle opener and use it to lift the sides a bit. It will loosen the pressure and you can open it!

my 3 steps to open a jar: hot water, then whack the rim of the lid against the edge of the counter, then if you still cant open it, use something silicone to get a better grip. (have also seen people put a duct tape around one side of the lid with a strip coming off to use as a handle they can grab)

To open jars all you have to do is bang the sides of the lid on something. Like 3-4 times in different areas. You can use the counter or sometimes I use an ice cream scooper to bang the lid

Your hood vent is probably installed out instead of just into the roof. Hence the wind from outside can be heard thru the vent on windy days. It's a good thing it's installed out and not in the roof.
