Tango -- the dance in the square. It is sad that the Mona Lisa has to be behind glass. When I saw it, I could walk right up to it, but I fear for all the great art-- some people are disrespectful of our history. I don't like the I.M. Pei glass pyramid outside the Louvre and don't understand that decision. I think the food in Holland is phenomenal, especially the cheese. I visited the Anne Frank house and cried for two days afterward. You had a wonderful experience and now know exactly what you want to return to for a longer trip. This was wonderful, Angela. I enjoyed it.

The people passing and hanging out on a Monday just reminds me of how uptight we are in the U.S. . The hotel was cute and quaint. I'm the same when I travel , I don't plan to hang in the hotel . A bed and shower is all I need, but as you said , it has to be clean . Thanks for sharing !

My husband and I did Paris then we took the bus to Belgium. I love the Majestic, Grande over the top Beautiful architecture ;the streets 😊,buildings. I was awe. My kinda place. I can’t wait rose Spain,Rome … Europe in the near future.

Mona Lisa is famous because her eyes. Wherever you are, you stay it seems ML she look ar you whit cryptic smile. It was painted on wood with oil paints. This is the famous and the most expensive pucture on the world. You can read a lot of this picture and the Renessaince painter Leonardo da Vinchi on Wikipedija. Best regards from Slovenia, EU.

I agree with you about the “Mona Lisa;” I too was expecting to see a much larger painting. However, I was happy to be at the Louvre; there is so much to see. Girl!! Isn't it weird that the Fanta Orange is yellow?? It seems like when we were over there the color of the Fanta changed mid trip. You should go to Cannes the next time that you are in France. Amazing! I'm glad that you had a spectacular time.

Thanks for taking the time to video your trip. It looks like you had a great time. Maybe the next time you're in Paris, you could take the Walking the Spirit tour. Julia Browne, a Canadian married to a Frenchman, has been in the business for a long time and concentrates on African American history in Paris of which there is quite a bit. In my regular neighborhood, the 6th-Saint Germain des Prés, there's quite a bit of history as James Baldwin lived in the 6th and there's a plaque with his name on it. Various jazz musicians also lived in the 6th on my regular street as they would rent rooms in hotels. There's an excellent book that Michel Fabre wrote back in the early 1990s, called, " From Harlem to Paris 1840-1980....." It's a paperback book with a red cover. I happened to discover the book late one night while in a beatnik type of bookstore while on a weekend up in San Francisco. After going to Paris for over three decades, I finally decided to take a tour and chose Julia's and had a private Walking the Spirit tour guide who happened to live a 5-minute walk from where I was staying in my neighborhood. I booked two private walking tours with him. He was an artist who at the time had been living in Paris for several years. He was African American and a grad of an HBCU. Interesting person and one who was able to land a major Parisian art exhibit of his work. As for LV in Paris, these days to get into a lot of large designer boutiques, one needs an appointment. I have never dealt with the appointment systems and was last in Paris in 2019. But, I hear that now it can be a mess. But, if you already know what LV product you want, it might be a good idea to contact the store to see if the item is available. I go to the LV boutique in my neighborhood, the 6th, as I find it easier than the flagship monstrosity on the Champs E. I was really sad when the LV store on Avenue Marceau closed due to the one on the Champs being built. I had been going to that one since the summer of 1980 when I was in my mid 20s and had the same sweet sales associates who would bend over backwards to try to find what one wanted. It was great to see Amsterdam again. I was last there in the late 1970s except for at the airport on my way to Ghana in the early 2000s. I've heard that it's really built up. I wonder if they still have all of the rijstaffel restaurants as that's where I would hang out since I like Indonesian food. Greetings from Los Angeles

Although I've never met her in person, she's been such a delightful person on e-mail over the years. I've contacted her in the past and we chitchatted about some of the legendary African American expats to Paris whom she wrote about and of whom I knew some, like restaurant owners, African American and African hangouts, etc. Greetings from Los Angeles
