Congratulations Grandma! No matter how our Grandchildren come into our hearts, we are better people for it. I remember the times I spent with my Grandparents, how precious those memories are to me. The wonderful thing is I now am making those types of memories with my Grandchildren.

I got the news I was a grandmother the night my grandson was born. We never met the mother before that. I didn't know my son was in a relationship since he didn't live at home. Anyway, my grandson lives with me and has off and on since he was born. He's 28 now and works as a special needs teacher at one of our local schools. He turned out to be a wonderful grandson.

Wow, Skylar is so beautiful, and what an adorable little baby she was! I just love her red hair. My oldest nephew is a fiery redhead, and I have always had this thing about red hair, always wanted to be a natural red head with the golden freckles all over. :-) Derrick is a very handsome young man, too. :-)

Just watched this again, it was heartwarming and I enjoyed it very much.

You are such a good story teller, I enjoyed hearing about this love brought into your life and Derrick’s. Just lovely how it all turned out.

I learned about my first grandchild the night he was born. Didn't know anything about the birth mother. Unfortunately she was a BxxxH. She and my son never married thank goodness. We pretty much raised our grandson from birth on. The mother had four other boys from previous relationships. My grandson is 28 and still lives with me. He has turned out to be a wonderful adult who works in our school system with Special Needs children.

What an awesome story Darlene. What a lucky Grandma. Your grandaughter is just beautiful and Im partial to red heads. Your son is also very handsome and I see you in him for sure. I want to be a grandma so bad Im frothing at the mouth and if my girls dont get moving soon they will be pass baby having age. well they have a bit to go but I tell them that to motivate them. Neither are married which I dont care ya dont need a marriage license to get pregnant, but both are in relationships. they are 33 an 32 and the oldest likes animals better than people and doesnt think she wants kids and my other daughter had cancer on ovaries but she can still get pregnant the doctors say with meds and possible procedures she hasnt yet been able to and Im afraid shes given up which I keep trying to encourage her and my son is only 18 well he will be 19 this month july 31st and hes been with his girlfriend for three years or more I hope I dont have to wait for him to make me a grandma Ill be too old to move. LOL Im 53 but I also am disabled and not able to get around easily so the older I get the worse it gets and limits me more from being the kind of hands on grandma I want to be , I would love for one of my kids tow alk thru the door and say mom your gonna be a grandma and if there was doubt, heck, I could care less about the DNA that baby is mine. Ha Ha My friend feels so bad cause she just became a grandma and knows how bad I want to be one she shares the baby with me. Shes so sweet but I hope someday I can experience it myself.This baby was a blessing for my girlfriend cause she had lost her son he was only 22 and right after her daughter found out she was pregnant. No on can ever be replaced by someone else but the baby was a good distraction for her. Thats one club I pray to God I never want to be in. My mom lost 3 of her sons just dont know how u get thru that I dont think u ever can and I dont ever want to know either. She just loves that baby and if she didnt have her I would really of worried about her mental health. well enough about that back to happy thoughts. Hopefully one day I can share pictures too, and I loved the one of Skylar in the pink pooh jacket so sweet, Shes just darling anyway. Take care Darlene

my heart is so happy for you but​ at the same time it is breaking bc my daughter will not allow me to have much contact with her. I'm not going to lie, it's not a good situation.
