I love a themed monthly TBR - though I am guaranteed to be over-ambitious and end up not completing it - because the thought process and decision making is so fun. A Jar of Destiny mixes things up wonderfully. But I would struggle with picking novellas because I have so few of them. Tough pick from the jar this one… [later on] actually, a few of these seem like series samplers, so I possibly do have a few collected on my Kindle 🤔 The SF titles you tried sound interesting. I did try a freebie series sample back in July, but the author pinged me off his mailing list because I wasn’t opening his emails. No harm done as I didn’t get on with that particular SF title. Military SF (which is usually my bag) with altogether too many “frak”’s in the dialogue which made me literally grown out loud several times. Oof. 🐈‍⬛ Properly chortling at Lyla sleeping against the smart meter 😆

I had to spend quite a bit of time finding the novellas, but I think it went well in the end!

I don't know why but I hate the idea of a novella and even more , a short story ! I just feel cheated . Even Stephen Kings short stories don't do it for me although , to be honest , Stephen Kings short stories can be quite long . Anyone else hate the idea of short stories ?

Short stories and novellas can be really hard to do well, but I'm a fan of them 😀
