I used to live in Anchorage! Be prepared to spend more money on items as they will typically be more expensive. Also even though Alaska is known for snow, it will mostly be covered over with ice so be careful with that! You should definitely explore not only the city, but also the surrounding towns and try a reindeer dog while you’re at it!

와 너무 도움되는 좋은 영상입니다. 저는 곧 미국으로 교환학생을 가야되는 상황이라 영어가 부족해서 급하게 이것저것 알아보다가 학원보다는 실전에서 써먹을 수 있는 연습이 필요할 것 같다보니 언어교환101 회화스터디 등록해서 주3회씩 다니고 있는데 확실히 외국인들이랑 실전에서 대화도 해보고 하니까 처음에는 어렵고 두려웠는데 환경이 이렇게 만들어지니 점점 늘어가는게 느껴지네요! 빨리 늘려서 영어 더 유창해지고 싶어요!

I'm born and raised from North Pole, Alaska, I really hope you enjoy your time here in AK!!! It's an experience you'll never forget. Although, you'll find its much more like Canada than America here. There is still a big patriotism with USA and AK flags hung almost everywhere you go. If you have an adventurers spirit- I think you have to travel around the state as much as you can when you come; while our history museums are great, the nature sight seeing is unforgettable. seeing northern lights, hiking mountains, berry picking, visiting the ocean, fishing, skiing, seeing ice glaciers, try fresh fish like alaskan salmon & snow king crab, even see and eat reindeer and moose. drink glacier water. and learning about alaskan natives culture, to name some. Anchorage is the biggest (in population) city in Alaska, with 300k people, and you can see the mountains from within the city. If you're a city girl, you won't get too homesick in anchorage, also there is lots of great korean restaurants there if you do. There isnt even one million people in all of Alaska, only 700k people in the whole state, much of AK is native/indigenous villages. Alaska is humongous and I truly believe my home is the most vast, diverse, and beautiful place in the world. for an alaskan tip: meet as many native alaskans as you can, we have incredible stories and life-long lasting friendships,, and please stay safe as human-trafficking is very big in Anchorage so be sure to buy some self defense like pepper spray when you get here for just incase. Congrats on getting into the exchange program and even though it's not your first choice- enjoy Alaska's natural beauty on your trip of a lifetime to many! 🌌🌲🫐🫎☃️🏔️🌆☀️

you're coming to America right as I"m leaving!! I can relate to how you're feeling, I got accepted to teach English through the JET program, I'm from somewhere that's super flat and far away from the ocean, so naturally I was placed in an area that's mountains everywhere and right on the ocean so I'm like??? how???? but as someone from "the middle of corn" I think Alaska is going to give you such a more unique experience than pretty much anywhere else in the US! from a vlogging/content creator standpoint it'll make you stand out so much more than cali or iowa, and hopefully it'll be fulfilling in your personal and academic lives as well!!

Alaska is honestly a great experience, Just if you ever decide to explore the natural beauty don't go alone. Alaska is gonna be an enriching experience, Its awesome to experienceplaces you would never choose to go. Alaska is like a hidden gem, Really hope you enjoy your time Darcie.

This is so exiting. I'm only doing a virtual exchange program in Finland's university, but eventually I wish to travel for real to do an exchange program. Alaska will be fun for sure. It's not just penguins there, though penguins are cute. There will be northern lights and gorgeous landscapes. Also just need to make sure you have proper clothing for the cold weather.

곰을 만났을때 대처법 1. 곰이 나오는 서식지를 최대한 피해야 한다. 2. 만약 곰을 만나면 방어적인지, 공격적인지 Black Bear인지 Grizzly인지 등을 파악한다. 3. 방어적인 곰을 만나면 천천히 조용히 빠져나간다. 4. 공격적인 곰을 만났을 땐 가능한 조용히 나가고, 마지막엔 공격적으로 대응해야 한다. 5. 공격을 실제로 받으면 몸의 머리와 복부를 보호한다. 차량 등에 숨을 수 있으면 숨는다. 6. (중요!!!)최악의 상황에는 목숨 걸고 싸워야 한다.
