Thanks for This behind the scenes of the ER. I am a nurse always wanted to be a flight nurse for trauma but I have sickle cell dz so I figured I better stay on the ground. But I have did some ride a longs and it is great to see that part of nursing that usually is blurred out. But to also see how much autonomy the flight nurses have. You have to know your stuff for sure. People don’t half way know what nurses encounter on a day to day bases. Seriously!

They don’t know at all what we go through ! I’m happy you followed your heart on becoming a nurse despite the odds!! Just you??!!!??? My anxiety would be through the roof. Hopefully you also have a call team on standby. I’m an RN circulator too. I work at a hospital with 8 ORs. We don’t do trauma (we’re not even on the trauma scale yet). We mainly do elective cases with the occasional Ex-lap, lap appy/chole. Pretty cush. It was nice to get a tour of your trauma room.

I started at a 4 OR hospital lol I miss it! Yes 9/10 I’m alone on Thursdays working night shift I’m used to it by now, or if my nurse calls in 😩 on the other days it’s just 2 nurses and 2 techs! & yes I have on call team that’s if they pick up the phone 😩 I learned to just think positive, affirm & pray how my night will go & most of the time that works😅 other nights not so lucky! But I have awesome techs❤️

It wasn’t hard, it’s certain qualities they look for to see if you would fit in the OR unit so the questions are tailored in a way to see your characteristics! I think I’ll do a video over it & I’ll make sure to tag you when it’s uploaded!

Im an ER nurse here that does lvl 2 trauma. You have to let these people know your an OR nurse that does trauma. Most nurses get additional training in those fields. Yeah sounds like your an OR nurse.

Yes my channel is all about OR nursing I have multiple videos showing & stating that so I’m not sure what the reach was for…the trauma room tour is in the OR unit as well. I also work at a level 2 trauma hospital…
