You literally share your life on the internet. You being diagnosed is your life. Obviously you’re going to share it. Idk why people are so mean. Like why. You’re so strong and I’m so proud of you

Hey Soph ! Resident T1D here for almost 12 years now - my girlfriend loves everything about your content & convinced me to follow after your first diagnosis video came out ! I know you feel alone, we all do at first while being surrounded by those who cannot possibly understand the absolute summersault our lives go through after diagnosis. But that doesn’t mean we don’t love those who try to be there for us despite not having diabetes ! If you need anything, just want to talk or are looking for advice I’d be so happy to connect & chat more - if not, I’ll leave you with this: you’ve got to look at life with diabetes as a marathon, not as a sprint. management is the goal because perfect control is unobtainable for everyone ! know & believe that the steps you’re taking are ENOUGH - just pricking your finger & taking your injections can feel like the most difficult tasks some days & you’re already counting carbs & listening to your body. amazing work !! as so many have said, your courage to speak up about diabetes is inspiring & for those of us without widespread platforms, thank you for spreading awareness & positive information about the disease. keep it up & know there’s a community behind you cheering you on

About the tiktok comments- I think you’re just adjusting to your diagnosis and you’re doing a good job at educating yourself about YOUR diagnosis. I don’t have diabetes but I have another autoimmune disease. I think you’re doing a really good job, I wish I would have educated myself on my diagnosis the way you are now!

Thanks for educating us! I find is so interesting the process of going from undiagnosed- to managing it. It’s so life changing that it can seem “worse” but in the long run you’re going to be way healthier 💓💓💓 you’re doing so well and you’re smile is shining through 💫

Thank you for another inspiring vlog, Soph. I can’t believe it is even a question whether you should talk about your diagnosis in your content. Just know that you have a lot of people who support you and are interested in your life and invested in seeing you succeed. That you are going through a serious struggle and choosing to share it is generous and courageous. *No one* is entitled to anything from you. Not your biggest supporters, and certainly not jealous, miserable people on TikTok. You are doing an incredible job managing something scary and painful and we are proud of you and sending you love and strength. Keep doing what is best for you ❤️

It’s your channel, you post what YOU want to post. If your viewers want to watch, they can! If they don’t want to, they don’t have to. Keep your head up. I remember the start of my journey with this. Feeling EXACTLY like you are now. It gets better, and it becomes a part of your life. Have you lost weight since your diagnosis? Are you doing the carb count 45(breakfast), 35(snack), 45(lunch), 35(snack), 45(dinner)? Every 2 hour meal or snack?

I want to commend you in how you are going about your diagnosis, and taking on everything you can, though seems a lot at the time will benefit you in the long run. Let’s face it, diagnosis’ can be sh@t, but it’s how the individual can get through it and make it work with them shows the strength and character of the individual. I see adversity in health conditions and mental health everyday being a paramedic, but no matter how sick they are; they still continue to smile… big love to you, and keep doing what you are doing.. once you get the information etc you need the easier it will be to keep up with it all.. thank you for sharing this journey with us ❤

I’ve had diabetes for 15 years this year. It is hard but very manageable! I have a Dexcom and an Omnipod. I love them both! They make having diabetes so much easier for me. Since having both my A1C has come down. In the 15 years it has only been in single digits like 3 times. So it has helped a lot! Thank you for sharing your journey! Love you guys!

I love that you are sharing this journey here…I’m sorry that people are making rude/ unaware comments. Diabetes is such a stigmatized disease. I just finished my MS in nutrition and that’s where I finally learned alllll about diabetes…it blows my mind how taxing and confusing it is to manage this disease (which I struggled to understand as a GRADUATE student) and how people newly diagnosed have to jump all in - for their life! Proud of you. will continue to adore your channel & follow your journey as you and your content grows to always fit YOU ❤️

I’m really sorry people are being jerks about you making content about diabetes. I appreciate how open you are about it tho bc it helps normalize it. I’m only pretty familiar with diabetes bc my mom has it but I don’t think I’ve ever seen representation anywhere and that’s really important. I wasn’t nearly as scared when I got my asthma diagnosis in 2nd (ish?) grade bc someone on a show I watched had it. Anyway, I’m proud of you for getting through all of this and still posting content you know you’ll probably get hate on. I really appreciate it and I still love watching your videos :)

I’m a diabetic. On your statement about listening to people the person you need to listen to the most is yourself. Every comment. Every nurse you ask. Every dr you ask will all prob be different. But you are a smart woman. Take all that in (yes the dr advice should weigh more) then do your own research. Then make your decision. No one has to live with the decision but you. Btw your numbers were not that pad for a new diabetic just learning. My numbers are around 130 when I wake up but 2 hrs after I eat I’m at around 100. Not great great but controlled. Good luck! Keep having fun. You two are a hoot.

I don’t have diabetes but I do have another chronic illness. And you need to make it your whole identity for a while to truly understand it and learn how it affects you and your lige. It can’t just be on the back burner cause it’s new and therefor you need to learn about your body and your body with your illness. I’m sending you so much love, being diagnosed with something chronic is really scary bc it will change your life. But that change, WILL be your normal. So you will get there, it just all seems so messy right now

Hi soph, so I work at Starbucks lol. To order the cold brew drink just ask for a regular cold brew and add salted caramel cold foam but sub sugar free vanilla for the caramel. Also the foam didn’t froth like it would at Starbucks because we make is with whipping cream rather then half and half

Bro you should ask your doctor about getting a Dexcom!! Also ask when your eligible for a pump. I have the T-Slim X2 and they have a program called control I-Q. You connect your Dexcom to your pump and it monitors your blood sugar, while it’s doing that it can also make adjustments to your basal rates throughout the day. I’ve had diabetes since I was 4 and my A1C was always 14-13 and now that I have control I-Q its at 7 for the first time I can remember. I know the diagnosis is a lot. I have burnout all the time and I talk to my diabetes therapist. She is super helpful with managing my diabetes and the stress behind it. I wish you and Avery the best of luck and I’m sure you have a great support system. There are a lot of diabetics in Florida. I learned everything I know at FCCYD (Florida Diabetes Camp). I hope this didn’t scare you but helped you. 😘❤️💉

You used half and half which is why it didn't "foam" . You should use heavy cream/whipping cream if you want that thick consistency like at starbucks

Hi little one. I’ve only seen a couple of you vlogs or whatever they are called and my heart goes out to you. As I was watching this video I was wondering if you might like to think about contacting Paige from KZreadrs - Holly and Paige!? Paige has diabetes also and I feel that she and Holly could be great help and support people for you and Waverley. I want to wish you all the very best and my heart goes out to you and Waverley because the shite thing is a huge hurdle for you both to come to grips with. Good luck and stay strong. In my country there is are two Maori words that may help you and they are ‘Kia Kaha’ which means Stay Strong! I wish you both all the very best and I know you will get on top of this health issue. Stay safe 👍💕

You should look into diabetes T1 support groups- like online or in person! i feel like speaking with other people who also have it- may help you not feel so alone in this- and like hearing what they also go through and just building a support system and community 💛🫶🏽
