I know it can feel easy to be down going through this rough patch with your health, but something that's helped me is trying to view myself and my situation through the eyes of a third person and basically viewing my thoughts as a friend would and treating myself with the same kindness, compassion, and understanding a friend would. I read about this in a book called Chatter, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone dealing with negative thoughts, self-talk, etc.

That's really good advice, thank you!! I'm so good at giving advice like that to friends but when it comes to myself, it all goes out the window lol that book could definitely help me. Plus, reading more is one of my goals!

@@LeaToshiye It's hard for us to see our own situation objectively, that's why friends come in handy :) giving and receiving good advice to/from others is always easier than figuring out what to do for ourselves.

lol, girl I relate SO HARD to the "it stops here with me" attitude regarding children. I've got a genetic vision disability that makes me legally blind (not correctable with glasses). I can't drive, I can't see any color or detail, and I have to wear super ugly red lenses so that I don't squint all the time. First chance I got as an adult, I got my tubes tied. Best decision ever. No poor child shall have to suffer from my bad genetics!

Omg I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of that! Also, want to get my tubes tied at some point. How was your experience, if you don't mind sharing?

@@LeaToshiye It was amazing! 10/10 recommend, but also it matters SO MUCH what surgeon you go to. I went to Dr. Megan Wassan at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. She was fantastic. I have one tiny almost invisible scar in my belly Botton, and that's it. Other surgeons use different approaches, more cuts etc. I was super scared after watching KZread videos of others' experiences but I think it just really matters who your surgeon is. Mayo Clinic is nationally renowned. Also, the whole thing cost $19k, and I paid ZERO. Completely covered by insurance. Take advantage of this before some idiot lawmaker lets insurance companies off the hook for paying for these kinds of procedures. If you wanna know more details, we can chat more about it (how I found the right surgeon, how to convince them, recovery, etc.)

please share your health journey! I'm also trying to figure out a few health things right now and relate to the uncertainty and juggling many appointments. honestly sharing your experience and updates would be relatable so we can feel we aren't alone in trying to figure things out and get better.

U got it! I really wasn't sure - I just don't want to come off negative or problematic but if sharing helps, then I'm down to do it!

@@LeaToshiye Look, reality is, some parts of life just suck more. we can try focusing on the good or be grateful things aren't worse, but let's also just make it okay to go through some rougher patches and be open about it :)
