Chicago's Blue Line connection to ORD is in 2 zones. I think its more expensive to leave than to go (Their is a regional rail station, but in a different corner of the airport)

I'd guess the line 11 platforms would be too the right of line 8. Line 11 was originally planned to go Av de Illustracion (and 5 to Valdebebas directly from Valdebebas Cercanias), so it feels a second metro line to the airport was never considered until the last five years. Also interesting the Cercanias tracks are already set for standard gauge

if I'm right I remember someone told me that the L11 platforms would have been constructed under the L8 instead of beside the L8. the only thing is that line 11 will no longer be enlarged to the airport, so now it doesn't matter where would have the platforms been built and yes, it's curious that there's standard gauge tracks in the cercanías line (although the standard gauge line ends at the end of the airport railway tunnel) The section between the airport tunnel and Chamartín has still Iberian gauge tracks
