Tupac personafied struggle and complexity. He seemed to display compassion with an edge. He was not the best lyrically, but he was a movement. He captivated his audience the way Ali and Malcom X did. Not comparing him to them, but he had that "it" factor. Gone way too young.

Emotionally connecting to your audience is better than any lyrical person could ever be. That is why Tupac was the best at it. He could easily make you feel like he was talking to you or made that song just for you.

Biggie's subject or substance matter in a more humane form never existed on the level of a Tupac or Common! Common's subject matter is one of a Tupac, however, he wasn't projected as a "street" cat.

There has never been a moment in time where 2Pac wasn’t bigger than biggie. Pac rushed a lot of songs and still gave us classics. So imagine if he took his time.

Hard to compare. Big was only getting bigger (no pun intended). He helped put the east coast back on top by late 95 with ready to die and all the hits/Remix he was on. Big was Number 1. Pac got out of Jail and joined the hottest label (Death row) which definitely helped him with All eyez on me. 97’ big is releasing he’s 2nd album which is a double disc and becomes fastest to reach Diamond, he unfortunately passes away before that.

i personally cannot choose lyricism over content and message/impact...most east coast rappers struggle to fill up content in their music

I was born in 83 so I was in junior high at the height of their popularity. Bought the cassettes for Me against the world and Life after death. I like both artist. But Pac def had that something extra. As I got older I appreciated Biggies Lyricism more. Weird times to be alive

2pac was way more versatile thats what it is. When biggie first came out I couldn’t relate to him because he talked about material things a lot. 2pac had a song for whatever mood I was in that day.
