His defense baserunning and overall athleticism has improved just as much this year IMO. He went from average to elite hitter, and terrible to okay speed/glove

If Tatis jr did this MLB would have a half hour feature.

@@joeyjojojr.shabalou174 Griffey jr for sure no comparison their. If Vlad jr keeps up what he is doing I think Vlad jr is better than sr and Bo Bichette better than his dad. Cavan Biggio has big shoes to fill to be better than his pops. But Griffey Jr is pry still one of the best all round ball players to ever play. The game was also way different back then the way they train and play etc.

As a season ticket holder from Montreal, I was fortunate to witness Vlad Sr. from 1996 to 2003. A deserving Hall of Famer and 5 tool athelete, who could throw you out at the plate from deep RF, steal bases, hit shoetop sinkers and sliders for extra bases, and Home Runs! But Vlad Jr. is a different animal. Yes he hits for average and power, but unlike his father, Jr. rarely swings at non-strike pitches. Add to that a great glove at first base. If he can play this way consistently without injuries, my bet is multiple MVP seasons like no MLB player has ever done. One more note: Have you ever seen a batter request the umpires to appeal his check swing? No he's not cocky, just honest and plain talented. It's in his blood - literally!

As a former baseball and softball player for 50+ years (I played until I was 60), hitting is very difficult. Vlad Jr. is overthinking at the plate, swinging at bad pitches. His average, power and clutch hitting suffered in 2022 and even more in 2023. Can turn it around for the remaining 16 games and in the playoffs IF the Jays make it this year? @@milesconnor9116

Vladamir Guererro jr got a military trainer over the winter helped him lose 40+ pounds and he played in the Dominican winter league.

I played on that field this year for a high school game. It was amazing!

Vladdy triple homerun night followed by Springer's debut tonight. Love it.

Yankee fan here. The Blue Jays are fun to watch. The AL east race will be fun this year.
