The most accurate film to date about Vlad Tepes. Better this than all the Western distortion.

of course that it's better than the Western versions, it's made by our people and who better knows us than ourselves? Although, I wouldn't trust everything that's in here. Like with all movies, some fakeness must be existing somewhere, I just don't know where but there has to be some :)

Romanians are very lucky to have such a great national hero. I'm a Turkish. I always respect each nations heros. Although Vlad is always accepted as a bad guy globally, I never believed that. After watching this movie, I respect Vlad more.

Sorry, dude, but killing a killer makes you a killer, makes you what you hate most if you have no respect for life. In my opinion as a Romanian, Vlad was a damn psychopath, a psychopath with good intentions, but a psychopath nonetheless. Lucky for everyone he didn't had intercontinental ballistic missiles at that time 'cause he sure as hell would've used them. As for "national hero", heroes don't take lives, so Vlad was more of an anti-villain.

Vlad Țepeș was a cruel ,but honest lord! Fighting agaisnt corruption ,thieves and murders . He punished the guilty ones with no pity as example . He was very just. We need another Vlad in Romania !!!

Acest mare film original românesc istoric vlad țepeș l-am vizionat pentru prima dată în viața mea pe timpul lui ceaușescu la cinematograful capitol de la noi din bucurești România de la vremea respectivă fiind mic copil am fugit de acasă să îl vizionez cu foarte mare plăcere. Fiind mic copil mi-a marcat copilăria și tinerețea mea de adolescent. Astăzi din păcate numai se află această locație pentru CĂ sa ales praful pulberea și cenușa de acest mare cinematograf unde mă duceam și eu ca tot omul normal să mă recreez și relaxez la un film bun. Vlad Draculea, bette known as Vlad the Impaler is one of our greatest historic characters. In Romania we respect him for the "cruel" justice he applied, and for being a great warrior. This film is 50% accurate, because it was produced during the communist era, which had a strong nationalist aura. And to be acknowledged by all, he wasn't a vampire, he did not drink blood, he was just a cruel ruler, but a great warrior who loved his country!

​@@MishaaSR The movie is 70-80% acurrate despite the fact that it was made in comunism era. Is accurate because was made under Military Academy egida, under History Departament supervision. Regarding the punishments of the criminala and traitors, Vlad Draculea (that in fact means Dragon) was no more no less cruel the other rulers of his time. And that is prooved by the school of torture from Wien, Paris or Rome ore Istanbul.

Watching this film as a Romanian living in the USA, I feel very proud of this man and being Romanian. Romania is not the country it once was, unfortunately. Wish Vlad was still dominating the country today and punish the corrupt politicians🗡

From what I've gathered, Vlad the Impaler was quite a character. Unlike most people believed, instead of being a sadistic murderer, in reality he was a fierce warrior who fought (and won) bravely against the Ottomans; I believe Vlad is among the more misunderstood figures in history whose true legacy has been tainted by urban legends and false anecdotes.

He was named "Dracula" because his father received the Dragon's order, but the villagers didn't know what's a dragon so they associated the dragon with the devil(in Romanian "Dracul"), after the death of his father, Vlad became impaler of Walachia, so the villagers have named him Dracula, the son of Dracul. He revenged corrupt noblemen. In that period, the lampoon just has apeard, so corrupt noblemen who were punished by Vlad they tried to revenge Vlad, too. They used the lampoon in which they ironized Vlad in different bad characters then they distributed the lampoons in all the fairs and this was the way through which the legend of Dracula has extended.

If you enjoyed this then you will love Mircea (1989). It tells of Vlad’s grandfather, Mircea The Old, and is Sergiu Nicolaescu’s masterpiece in my opinion. Fantastic film.

+Yilmaz Kilinc I think I am the only Romanian who understand how you feel about Vlad the Impaler. I had some Turkish colleagues :). For the Turks he was a monster and a nightmare but for Romanians he was what was needed at that time. As you feel about Vlad the Impaler so are the Greeks feeling about Mehmed II. Everybody speak about Vlad the Impaler only about his harsh rule (but correct one) and forget about his most greatest realizations. He was a reformer. He basically modernized, enlarged and founded the most cities in Valachia. Almost all major cities in the south part of Romania were Vlad's realization. He modernized the taxation system and finally "cleaned" the aristocratic class of the Turkish collaborationists. His last reform actually killed him. Both Moldavia and Vallachia were importing almost all of weapons from the Saxons in Transylvania with the exception of cannons and crossbows which were imported from Bohemia. my grandfather is in this movie, he plays a simple peasant but what I want to say is that in the "ages of movies" the population was so excited for them. To play in them or just tot watch them 11/10 the movie for the communist iron courtin this movie was so history accurate

Outstanding movie! Good atmosphere. The way the REAL original Dracula was.

Vlad is a true hero and king, as he put it "I don't like wars, we have never opressed or conquered anyone but if we must defend ourselves we will."

It's interesting to see how Romanian and Italian have so many words that sound almost the same.

It`s the best version ever, made by Romanians , which accurately represents the historical truth. The name of the actor is Stefan Sileanu . He still lives today ; he`s about 70 years old. He was the best choice from all Romanian actors . He impersonated Vlad the Impaler exactly like I have always imagined the great Romanian leader could have been. Great job, uploader ! Btw , I`m Romanian . Later edit: Stefan Sileanu died this year(2020). RIP! :(

I know. That's precisely what I was referring to. He chopped of trees to make sticks to impale his victims on, thus deforesting his land. (It was supposed to be a joke, which clearly fell flat). He converted real forests into human forests, but you can't do photosynthesis with dead bodies (instead of trees), which is bad for the environment.

Trădați am fost întotdeauna de către străinii pe care i - am luat sub aripa noastră. E o singură cale : ori noi, ori ei.

Buna seara din Germania. Ich liebe diesen Film, seit ich ihn in den 70ern im Kino gesehen habe. Ich war damals etwa 14 Jahre alt, war aufgrund meiner Vorfahren vor sehr langer Zeit schon immer fasziniert von der großartigen Geschichte Rumäniens. Ich konnte damals - weil ich in der verdammten Ostzone aufwuchs - nicht weit reisen, aber zum Glück wenigstens nach Rumänien. Ich liebte dieses Land, und liebe es bis heute, als Insel der glorreichen romanischen Kultur und Sprache in der damaligen trostlosen Einöde der slawischen, vom Ostblock vereinnahmten Widerwärtigkeit. Selbst in der schlimmsten Ära, als die verfluchten Kommunisten dieses schöne Land unterdrückten, verlebte ich schöne Zeiten dort. Alles, das Essen, der Wein, die Musik, die Geschichte als die römischste aller Provinzen des großartigen Imperium Romanum unter dem großen Kaiser Trajan, worauf ja auch der Landesname zurückzuführen ist, seine Menschen und ihre Kultur, die Sprache (völlig anders als der slawische Kauderwelsch, sondern eher verwandt mit spanisch, italienisch oder portugiesisch) faszinierte mich schon immer. Ich bin so stolz auf Rumänien, vor allem weil dieses Land 1989 sich seines Kommunisten-Diktators auf die einzig richtige Weise entledigt hat. Und ja, ich kenne den Dracula-Mythos wie wahrscheinlich jeder Mensch auf der Welt. Aber ich würde mir wünschen, dass viel mehr Menschen auf der Welt die wahre Geschichte und die Verdienste dieses glorreichen Fürsten kennenlernen würden, eines Helden, der Europa seinerzeit vor dem ideologischen Gift des (politischen) Islam beschützt hat. Leider fehlt er heute, denn einer wie er würde solche Ratten wie den IS, die Hamas und ähnlichen Abschaum in ihrem eigenen Blut ersäufen. Wenn man ihn nur ließe... Leider ist mein rumänisch etwas eingerostet, aber Ich hoffe, dass die großartigen Menschen in Rumänien es irgendwie übersetzt kriegen. "Ich werde so tun, als würde ich fliehen. Multumesc de sugestie, voi cauta fimul. Pe Virgil Ogasanu nu mi l-am imaginat decat in roluri de comedie. Am avut ocazia sa-l vad si in particular, in sala de asteptare a aeroportului Otopeni - asteptam acelasi avion. Chiar daca nu facea absolut nimic, doar statea pe o banca, mi s-a parut comic. :) Cu siguranta am sa caut filmul!

Vlad used violent methods to maintain control in dark & turbulent times when the odds were highly stacked against him & his people. A leader from my country such as Henry VIII on the other hand freely used execution & torture on innocent men & women just to cover up for his affairs and accommodate new marriages whilst he lived in luxury getting more and more obese yet he is rarely regarded as "Monster" or tyrant as Vlad often is. Watched whole movie, absolutely amazing. I really like the history of Vlad Tepes, he was true hero. I'm thankful for english subtitles and I think, it would be great to make translation for that movie also in another languages (for example in my beloved Poland romanian cinema isn't known at all 😔). That movie reminded me polish "Pan Wołodyjowski" from 1969 (similar style and atmosphere). Pozdrawiam mieszkańców przepięknej Rumunii 🇷🇴 ❤️.

hello all and greetings, wow I am very impressed with this movie a lot. Though I do admit I can not understand the language spoken. But, honestly this is THE only movie about Prince Vlad that i know of that is historically accurate. I am sure they left out a lot more since they were making a movie. I would imagine a movie of that caliber would be extremely long. I never did buy into those lies and false propaganda that society passes for history of Vlad Tepes being a mindless blood drinking terror. That is just fanciful movies and entertainment only. I personally always held Prince Vlad in high regard and thought of him as the right man for the job he had to do and given the time in history he did what he had to do for his people and the rest of Europe. Prince Vlad needs more recognition and a true place among the exalted in history. I am sure i will be criticized and thrown nasty immature comments my way from those who hate Prince Vlad. But my studies and research have led me to know the real man that he is, and i am still learning more. a great movie thank you. On this channel you can see also, another great Romanian historical movie which is - Mircea (1989) Proud Heritage [multi-sub] . Mircea was the grandfather of Vlad Tepes and he fought against the invading forces of the Ottoman Empire, too (the movie has English translation). The child in the movie is Vlad Tepes. Cheers :)

+hanno21664 He killed mostlly smuglers,rapist,bandits and all the rich people who made a fortune doing nothing. He did what he did because he was desperate about the situation of this country. I really wish Hollywood or other big movie company would try to make a accurate movie of Vlad,maybe a "HD version of this movie".In english.It would be awsome!

Vlad the Impaler...

I love this movie!True, its made very authentic.I love when he says he didnt want to impale, but he had to be harsh to make people follow the rules.And at the beginning, when he gave a choice to the nobles to help him build the country or suffer the consequences.Thats not an attitude to bloodthurst person, like he is presented from history.Maybe he was a decent guy after all, living in a cruel time which forced him to make terrible things to defend his country.

Thanks for this info. I got a feeling that he was been portrayed too bad than it should. I realize he hv bad attitude. With worst situation, a fierce ruler need to stand tall. I find Dracula similar like Hitler. Born in conflict era where harsh situations need unexpected solutions.

hitler has no redeming qualitys. Vlad at least was forced to fight the ottomans while dealing with corupt nobles. hitler rrally didnt have an excuse for what he did.

E cea mai bună versiune pe care am văzut-o. Sunetul e grozav. Subitrarea e relativ bună, deşi s-ar putea şi mai bine. Felicitări cui a depus această muncă. Filmul e impecabil.

Pe naiba... am facut eu rost de versiunea Blu Ray 1080p. Stii cum se vede??? Zici ca a fost turnat in 2018 nu in anii 70. Canalul CineMaraton e singurul canal din Romania care a prelucrat toate filmele vechi in calitate HD. Nici macar TVR nu le au HD. Problema e ca nu prind acest post ca altfel ma ocupam sa fac eu capturi. Sunt cativa idioti pe torrenti care fac captura dar ai dracu prosti le comprima de le gaseste zbenghea! Le fac sa aibe 700-800MB la rezolutie nici macar 720p ci 480p. Am niste nervi de nu mai pot ca nu prind si eu Cinemaraton! Daca prindeam vedeati acum toate filemele romanesti in calitate FULL HD!

Great Romanian leader? Romania is 155 year old . Vlad Tepes was born in Hungary! In 1859, Wallachia united with Moldavia to form the United Principalities, which adopted the name Romania in 1866 LOL

The movie Dracula Untold foreshadows exactly what Vlad Tepes was in real life: a man that had to sacrifice his moral falues in face of one of most powerfull enemies ever on face of earth at that time ,the Otoman empire.In the movie they say Dracula is the necesarry evil. People did portray him as a ruthless leader but in reality the things he did were done allover the world,those were the times.And indeed,there are times were all you can do sadly is leave your morals aside and do not what people wish ,but what people need.Not always what you need is what you want.Every nation needs a person like Vlad as a prime minister or minister of foreign affairs. he understood to be a brother to his friends and a devil to his enemies.Quite an edgy guy but honestly, the alternative(otomans) was much darker.way darker.I had the same feeling while learnig about Stalin.Stalin was a psichopath,a scourge and a disease for human race but he was exactly the ally that Europe needed against Hitler.Not comparing Vlad to Stalin,but must point out that today we face again a strong enemy:terrorism.And ,as history teach us, we do need a more hands-on aproach to this problem.lets pray for an individul to come next 10 years in power of NATO and he be as wise and direct as Vlad and as ruthless and violent as Stalin.We need one like that for at least 2-3 years,we have some big problems emerging from the east.

Hi, yesterdey I saw this movie about Vlad Tepes and I have to say that it is the best movie ever. When I was teeneager I started to interested his history. On the beginning I was fascinating of Bram Stokers' Dracula and then I started ask question and looking for historical hosodar. This movie is one of the most true history about his life. In my opinion he is a hero. He has lived in difficult times. He had done his the best. He was curel becouse he had enemies. Where is a power there are an enemies. For me he was very cleaver and intelligent man. And of course he was Romanian. I'd like to know something more about him. About his private life: women, family etc.

Anna Sarnecka is appeared a book in Romanian called "Răstignit între cruci" (Crucified between crosses) about his life, but is the first volume about this. Try to find it. The second will be the Romanian translation from Latin of that manuscript of that missionary priest.
