Lastly a developer of this game mentioned that he was worried they made it too easy before the game released, and had a lot of changes to some levels to make them easier. Which is mental, I hate to think what it was like before and what he thinks hard is.

The loading screens were what made me never want to go for the gems ever again. They took as long as 48 seconds each for me. Also getting all the boxes in Building Bridges alone took me over 130 tries, maybe more.

It’s a lot faster on PS5 which just takes a few seconds at best

The PS5 thankfully makes the game quicker, since it drastically reduces loading times, but it still doesn't make me want to go for 100% lol I also recommend checking out Caddy's "Illegal World of Crash Bandicoot Bootlegs" and "Insane world of video game commercials" videos :)

I agree with caddy, this game is great but completion us too demanding

If you think 68 hours is a long time, it took me 89 to beat this game the first time. But I have replayed a couple times since and my most recent time I even got half of the dev times, which I am GOING to be proud of. Also caddy is wrong about the dpad, using the analog stick is a lot more precise no matter what he says

No, he’s right about the D-Pad. Even though the game is designed with both in mind, a D-Pad is handier for precision with landing (like the track of the mine carts he tried to jump back on and oversteered because joysticks tend to make you overcorrect because they are ‘floatier’) and aligning yourself to jump on boxes. A D-Pad feels a bit heavier compared to a joystick, so if you ever panic, there’s a change you can still save yourself because you won’t overshoot a safe platform. Not to mention the joystick can mess up your path position like Caddy mentioned, making it easier to miss boxes compared to going in a straight line with the D-Pad and being guaranteed to break all of them as long as you time your jumps and spins right. I myself have used a joystick for games for years, but Crash 1 changed that. That game went from fricking hard to easy/normal difficulty just by using the D-Pad alone. Crash 4 is the same way, making you feel like you’re steering a train (D-Pad) instead of controlling a car with a very light steering wheel on ice (joystick). Yes, the D-Pad feels unnatural to use at first, but once you’re used to it, it makes the games a lot easier. I might sometimes use the joystick on safe areas where precision isn’t needed, but as soon as I need to be jumping and stuff, I switch back to the D-Pad because I’m not gonna make it harder for myself to complete.

@@Sweetie.21 skill issue. The n sane trilogy version of crash 1 is infinitely easier for me BECAUSE you can use the joystick, and i can barely play the original with its dpad only setup. You can indeed say I have a dpad skill issue, but the stick is just as easy if you're good with it.

@@Sweetie.21 also that was really bad playing on caddy's part in that toxic tunnels section, I never ever play that badly, he quite frankly stinks at using them if he has that bad overcorrection.

@@noname-jt6kl I guess joysticks can be handy if you need to correct a huge distance at once, as the D-Pad lets you make tiny adjustments. In my experience one press is moving one box forward, so things like box bridges I do right without thinking because it’s literally one press at a time. And with a joystick if you don’t go straight over it, you’ll most likely have to correct yourself halfway through and it’s easier to accidentally jump over a box that way too.

Crash 4 is a really great game but the 106% completion is miserable I got a major headache/eye looking at the n verted stages besides that its just the same stage but with an ugly filter it would of been way cooler. What if instead they turned it into ps1 polygons like the og trilogy would of been cool or have be a togglable thing so if you don't want it then you don't have to have it to this day I still haven't bothered going for it and may never do unlike the first three crash games where i complete them 100% anytime and day.
