fads come and go. like 3D TV been and gone 3 times since the fifties. People dont use curved screens except for an hour as a gimmick, and watch a movie wearing 3D glasses makes your doobie and glass of beer on the table hard to grab during the movie as you see double.. Stupid tech world throwing crap at us

Looking through the reviews from Asia, it seemed to me that they were much better in terms of the tests carried out. What I miss: 1. Verification of zoom video and switching between lenses. I would like to see if there if there is a noticeable difference in image quality when zooming in and out. I experienced this problem with the Xiaomi 13 ultra and I'm curious to see if it's visible on this model too. 2. Photo quality - the weather in central Europe is awful (Poland here with all shades of grey winter colour palate), but perhaps you could do a test in a well lighted mall and share some photos on google drive? 3. What are the options in pro photo mode? What are the other options apart from standard night shots and auto mode? A phone of this class can be compared to others with a round island of cameras - Huawei, One Plus, Xiaomi etc. BTW The Xiaomi 13 ultra can use 67mm filters from standard camera lenses. I think soon there will be similar cases for the VIVO that will also give this option and level up photo quality.

I hope for a Oneplus 12 vs Xiaomi 14 video camera stability in the near future! Very good explanations based on zoomed photos and walking recorded videos! 😁👌

I have kids also and every time I heard yours, I had the feeling it was mine waking up XD I think you went very harsh on the phone in very bad light conditions. You are talking about the best camera phone 2023 right there.

I'm going to throw my 2c in here. As a backdrop, I started 2023 using the S23 Ultra. Hands down had the best experience on Cameras with it, function-wise it was great but I sold it and moved the Xiaomi 13 Pro. That was also fun but I had my eye on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra so I upgraded to the Vivo X90 Pro + and was blown away with the quality. It started to put the fun back into photography with a phone so I used it for awhile (despite the awful DXOMARK review) and then the Honor Magic 5 Pro took my eye and I bought that. Got some really nice shots, but the Sony Xperia 1 V came out with a different lense system and I wanted to see how good it was against the Sony Xperia Pro that I also had. It was good, and i used it for a bit but the Xiaomi 13 Ultra popped up and I grabbed that as a daily driver. That camera system was perfect (again I dont know what DXOMARK were smoking with their review). I had been using the Xiaomi 13 Ultra for a bit and decided to get the Huawei P60 Pro for it's strong camera system and it quickly became my main carry with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra behind it. The Huawei P60 pro is hands down the best camera phone on the market in 2023, after taking 1000's of photos (my google Photo storage is in the multi TB now :) ). However, this late entry that I picked up last week is the Vivo X100 Pro, and it is an amazing phone. It feels great, it is fun to take photos with, all of the things I loved in the X90 Pro + are there just more polished and more capable, and the cameras seriously push the Huawei P60 Pro for quality and "feel". The X100 Pro would be a good buy for $2000AUD but considering it was dropped at my door from HK by Wonda Mobile for just under $1400AUD, it's cheap and bloody brilliant. Personally, I think the weakest phone for my use this year has been the S23 Ultra, and I won't be buying nor recommending the S24 Ultra to anyone, given that this is almost a repeat for me of the S22 Ultra in 2022. The Chinese just makes better camera phones than anyone else, and that's something I never thought I would say.

​@@davidspadafora8726 Personally, I think the Huawei P60 pro takes better photos overall, with the x!00 Pro very close. Having said that, the x100 Pro does capture colours and gradients a little better (more natural to what the eye is seeing) which is that Zeiss maturity showing through. I carry the P60 Pro as my backup phone every day, so it's always close. There was a decent image lift with the last Vivo firmware update though, and the x90 Pro certainly got better with each upgrade so should be an interesting six to twelve months ahead.

Auch wenn es meiner Meinung nach nichts für Deutschland ist (wegen dem fehlenden Band 20) finde ich es trotzdem nice dass du das Gerät testest. Und wer weiß, vielleicht haut da Vivo ja wirklich noch eine globale Version raus...

Very good and critic (which is to be commended) review. While HW other than the wide-lens is very impressive, the photos are too processed indeed. What about the Textured and ZEISS shooting modes?

I have watched others vivo x100 pro AND it has an amazing camera. In your Review it takes regular photos.. I dont understand..

even with my s23u i feel a little jealous of this vivo x100 pro camera. i almost ordered it before i get the s23u from china but i felt like getting something locally that works slightly better. while the s23u is about as good in alot of situations its just the color reproduction of the vivo and the processing that i find more pleasing than any other phone for stills. i speak of this as a photographer even. shots from my phone don't give me enough confidence in them to post in social media outside of my camera. but if i had the vivo I'd probably be fine with it despite it being a "phone" relative to my ff camera with my f2.8 lenses

Really think vivo has good colors ? Have you tried Sony ?

One of the biggest issue is product avibility in the local market as well as online for example out of stock we dont know when the product will be avilable the second which I come accross is global version .wifi only .and in many cases offers and discounts.

Seems like an underwhelming camera performance at first look. Hope you do the camera comparison of X100 pro vs Xiaomi 14 pro.

one thing I've observed, huawei is not overworking with their camera bumps and sizes. huawei makes the best cameras without the compromise of design. all these phone companies are making humongous back cameras yet can't outperform huawei flagships like p60 pro and mate 60 pro

Definitely compare against OnePlus 12 if possible. This phone is being announced for global market on the 14th.

Great device, global versions start 14th of December already. Only the back cover silicon cheapie thing is unworthy of the brand. Hopefully we see a comparison with other phones soon.

@@thundergato84 I'm not sure but previously the Chinese version came with OriginOS and global version had Funtouch OS with all Google's functionality incorporated. And global versions came with Qualcomm but I think X100 all versions will be equipped with Mediatek

Great channel man! I'm always watching your comparison videos since you are the only reliable source of information for Chinese phones in Europe.. That being said, I find Vivo X100 Pro great phone, but I have a few questiony for you regarding Google Services and so on. I'm planning to buy a Chinese variant of Vivo X100 Pro since it is much cheaper, but I have some concerns regarding Google Services and global apps that I use. So, my questions are: 1. Is it possible to have complete Google Services alongside Google Play? 2. Does NFC work for payments and so on? 3. Does Chinese variant get OTA updates? 4. Did you install and use any banking apps? Anyway, if you may answer one more question, what size do you recommend for buying X100 Pro? From which did you buy yours? I found Wonda Mobiles, Giztop and Shenzen Trading but not sure which one would be best choice since I'm afraid of customs and import taxes since I'm in EU... 😅

Not sure about Vivo, but Xiaomi has a setting to "force" telephoto even in low light. I think all phones should have this setting. If I want to use tele in low light, just let me!

As good as they can be I will not use another vivo's phone after the X60 Pro and the X80 Pro. Vivo doesn't prioritize audio on their phones at all. Their speakers can be so quiet. That's why I love Oppo phones, better speakers

Can you make comparison between x100 pro vs Oppo find x6 pro and with another one in you collection? :) 14pro would be nice addition too!

In dim lit situations it struggles a bit. I also have the feeling the Oppo Find X6 Pro is better especially with Ultrawide and Tele.
