Hello! I found your channel a few days ago. I am a 75-year-old woman and used to do a LOT of sewing and have always really liked style and fashion. I decided to go back and watch your oldest videos. Last night, I watched your introductory video. It is great! I was just so impressed that you would decide to start a channel, sit down in your living room, and just start talking to people! Your sincerity and honesty were, in my opinion, just what people are attracted to. I did a little bit of binge watching last night and really enjoyed it. This morning, I realized that you are actually building a group where women can support and encourage one another. That is wonderful! I have questions about fabrics that I will ask in another video. Who knows, they might provide you with topics to incorporate in a video.

Hi Regenia, thank you for writing! Your words are an encouragement and I appreciate your support. When I started this channel 6 years ago I honestly didn’t think I had anything to offer. My kids egged me on, and then it just started to grow organically. I think sometimes as women we put enormous pressure on ourselves and figure that everyone else is better at [fill in the blank] - when the reality is that we all bring unique strengths to the table. The warmth and caring of so many here have bowled me over and I’m still astounded!! Now I primarily only post 1 video a month to showcase what I’ve worked on, strictly for inspiration for others. It’s been great. I’m glad you’re here!😃

@vivmomsews4962 Your one video a month is a great idea! It puts less pressure on you. It gives your followers and subscribers something to look forward to. It probably motivates some to see how many things they can make in a month. The previous month's video probably encouraged some to try something else they would not have on their own. They might be ready to see what combinations you will put together that they never thought of and want to try out a similar pairing in their own wardrobe. It does me good to see KZread being used to help people connect. You have followers from other countries! How cool is that?!

Your choice of patterns shows that it doesn't need to be complicated, because it's actually all about the fabric. Thanks for this perspective.

I would love you to do a video of how and when you started sewing. It's so much fun to watch your videos. I would love to know what motivates and inspires you to sew. Did you take formal classes or are you self-taught? Did you start young or when you had your children? Please consider doing this. I think your fans would really enjoy it.

As I mentioned before I’m watching your old videos as I’m unable to do much with my right wrist broken. Hoping the healing goes fast! And I’m thinking getting back into sewing will help it when I get to that point. I am anxcious to do so! I can’t imagine biking into D.C.! Our daughter and SIL lived in Alexandria a few years while he was working for the government and going to law school at night at GWU. They moved back to Texas after he graduated law school. We lived in Charlotte then (my hubby retired from BofA), so we would drive to Alexandria to visit. That traffic! Oh my! Bless your hubby as he rides! I was would be a nervous wreck! Ha! Anyway.....I am so anxious to find some of the $2 and $3 a yard sales you find! I have not found any! Those fabrics are awesome! Again, thank you so much for your channel!

We so envy your fabric selection in the USA. Especially your lovely cotton prints. Whenever a member of our family would visit the US, my mom would request some cotton prints for sewing.

Thank you, Sue!🌸It always sounds great to my ears when someone expresses interest in sewing. I left sewing for many years and then, for some reason, picked up a pattern to make. I had no idea what I was about to ignite, but man! I fell hard. It is a convergence of time and desire for me - I have plenty of both at this point in my life. Then I added a KZread channel and it has been more fun! I am so glad you’re here. Thanks for writing!😃

Man, that pink/beige/gray suiting is amazing!!! I'm having some fabric envy over here! I also really love the New Look 6035 jacket, I may need to go get that when they have the next sale, since I have banned myself from buying anymore fabric in the near future, I will have to get my kicks with patterns!

Impressive fabric haul!! We don't have sales like that in the UK...and super envious of your pattern prices too! Edit - I'm just starting out vlogging too. I use lightworks but I'm sure it's not the easiest or best but I don't have an iphone so can't use the more intuitive video software that comes for apple products. I'll watch with interest any recommendations you get x

Try not to be afraid of Burda patterns. It seems like you have been sewing for awhile so try to rely on your sewing instincts and general construction. Yes I have been sewing a long time but I no longer use the instructions except to read through them once for any special techniques. I'm sure you can do it!

True, and I’ve been sewing for eons as well. But I love comprehensive instructions. I will sew the Burda patterns but they’re not my preference - at least not yet! Thanks, Teresa.
