Vivian Maier Photographs: A Singular Vision

Heritage Auctions is excited to present "Vivian Maier: A Singular Vision," an auction dedicated to the work of the renowned photographer.
This event features a collection of Maier's vintage prints, negatives, transparencies, and personal ephemera.
Maier, who passionately dedicated herself to photography while working as a nanny in New York, California, and later Chicago, only gained recognition after her death when her work was discovered by snapshot and street photography enthusiasts in online forums.
Among the highlights of the sale are 20 large format exhibition prints created by Maier in the late 1950s that haven’t been publicly seen since their initial storage locker sale. Though Maier left behind a sizable number of negatives and small proofs, no more than 300 large format prints are thought to exist.
Sarahjane Blum, Director of Illustration Art in New York, talks about her favorite photos from the collection.
