Yes I remember listening to it as a kid; of course it was my mom’s cd, but I loved that album.

The vocal arrangement is top notch. Love the way Vivian's vocals and the background vocals are layered, especially at the end.

This song has been out for years and I’m just now hearing and loving the f*** out of it!!!!

Same... Heard it yesterday after over a decade and it swung me back into my twenties revisiting positive moments I stored away from good times with an ex... This album and Floetry were the two engines of that relationship. I've avoided them for years, but it's nice to know that I can circle back and just appreciate the good music after all these years. Miss Green was a major crush... I fell in love with the Emotional Rollercoaster song and her talking about running for therapy... As a lifelong athlete, I was hooked... Peace to anyone who reads this.

@@hevyonez97 No, Joe didn't play this...I did - if you listen (not even that carefully I might add) you'll hear that it's not a sample but a live performance - there's variation throughout. The song was produced by this cat named Osun Lade and when he first recruited me and my boy Gene Lake (drums) to play on this he played us the demo which DID feature the Joe Sample sample (no pun intended). The sample clearing fee would have been too much so he asked me to replay the part, to which I agreed under one condition: that he credit Joe Sample as co-writer on the song; I wasn't about to replay something to save Sony money and then have Joe be on the outside in terms of writer's credit. I also let Joe know personally that this went down, so he knew about it [as well]. I played piano and synths, as I said that's Gene Lake (on drums) and our boy Reggie Washington is on bass.

I bought this album when it first came out and today it still has the same affect on me because it's really unfortunate that people are still lost in the world. I am so glad that I understand how important love is needed to be just a little more than the money some put before it 🙏 love is believing in God and God is love, it is necessary for us and we will be able to get it together for our own lives.
