Tchaikovsky 's 1812 Overture. I know, a bit long but I always wanted to hear a ROCK version of it. Imagine THE FINALE: a synthesizer duo (with a sound a la R. Wakeman's ) interpolating with the guitar counterattacking! And then firing those CANNONS ! Awesome !
I’m trying to imagine Vivaldi thinking of the possibility of this being played 300 years in the future.

Wow... This reminds me of when my dad and I went in to a music store to buy me a recorder for school in 1978. My dad played Spanish guitar love ballads and classical music as a hobby but he was really good, only he didn't think that he was. He saw an electric guitar and he'd never played one. I suggested that he try it and the clerk set it up for him. He sat down and started strumming "La Malagueña" only it sounded like he was shredding. I still remember the clerk saying, "woa... " Fun memory. My dad split in 2020 RIP. I miss him.
I'm a big fan of Vivaldi, and would never have thought this could be done on heavy metal guitar, but this guy has proved me wrong. Superb!

I'm convinced classical musicians invented the first iteration of metal. Bach was notorious for blowing out the windows of buildings, Mozart had a punk attitude and Lizst had a rock style attitude, together with screaming fans and groupies.

@@jonathanday6692 My uncle was an AVID classical rock guy....turn it up so they hear it 2 blocks away type of guy. I played violin and the classical stuff just grew on me. Guy named David Garrett who is one of the most perfect and natural "classically trained" violinists I ever heard... he is like Our modern day "Paganini" but without Paganini's self centered, if your name isn't Paganini.... you SUCK! attitude but with paganini's skill on the violin. The guy is so awesome on the violin that when he was 11 yrs old or so.... he was handed a Stradivarius Violin to play on by the German President at the time. Recording albums at 10 yrs old or some shit. And has his OWN Stradivarius violin that does not sit behind a glass display case.... or in a vault.... It is his "violin" as in his "daily driver" lol. He fills any space you give him to fill all over the world. Sure he plays the classical pieces but he also plays Metallica, AC/DC, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith.... On his Strad. I heard him in a interview one time say that Classical IS RocknRoll and Rock IS classical. I was like BULLSHIT what the fuck ever.... I played it in concerts with the orchestra and smaller chamber groups and THAT stuff is NOTHING like Rock n' Roll.... HES CRAZY! lol. One day I seen girl playing Vivaldi's "Summer" on electric guitar.... I don't think she even changed the piece any..... other than switching out violin for electric guitar.... and..... it could fit right in with most of the "modern" guitar licks of Rock'n'Roll..... WTF!!!!!!! lol. Started looking at "classical" in a whole new way. And my uncle still rubbing classical's face in the dirt every chance he got and I told him I will play him "CLASSICAL" music and he will LIKE it... and classical got a 2nd dirt face rub again so I couldn't just play it for him right then.... because he would KNOW it's classical and just bash it even if it DID sound good lol. Bout a week later told him he had to see this chick on electric guitar, she rocks lol. Asked if he liked it... (I think he was even playing his "air guitar" during it..... After he said it was good.... told him he liked a song written over 200 years ago by Vivaldi... he's like who that? I said a CLASSICAL COMPOSER!!! You just AIR GUITARED to Antonio VIVALDI!!!!! lol I even came to the conclusion that the "violin" is actually "superior" to any other instrument including Electric Guitar. I came to the conclusion that they took a guitar.... plugged it into electricity and once they electrified it.... it gained the "qualities" that a violin already has NATURALLY. When you plug a guitar in.... what does it gain that an acoustic one can't do? They can now do a "useful vibrato" as they can now actually HOLD notes long enough to vibrato with the bar. And.... they can now HOLD notes much much longer than a plucked string will allow you to hold. They now gain cool "sound effects"...... and you can pull some freaky sound effects from a violin too. Plugging in a guitar, it becomes more like a violin. Now.... a violin is the instrument that is said to be the closest to human voice you can get. Most instruments produce a note by pushing a button and blowing air through it.... and you are limited to the amount of "notes" you can play by how many "buttons" you can press. U might can play an F and F# and a F flat but guess what? The violin can play the F and F# and THEN play the sharp OF the F# And the newer generations who sport violins and featuring them out front on the stage.... are opting for ACOUSTIC vs the plugged in electrified crap..... The violin produces its OWN electricity!

@@rustykoenig3566 Damn, can't find how to vote this up more than once. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but were there early violins on which you could play more than two strings at a time? If so, then you're absolutely right. There are scans of the three big name violins and it looks to me (again, could be wrong) like the curvature of the top combined with some funky internal structure gave them a resonance like nothing else. I'll post links if it interests you. Now, guitars come in many flavours. Not just Spanish/Classical, but 8-string (two free vibrating adjacent to the regular 6) and 12-string (6 under the regular 6, so presumably also affected by the frets), Indian "we'll move the damn frets where we like", etc. I assume violins have had similar sorts of experiments, hence the wide range in that family. So I won't consider an experiment unique to the guitar family unless you state (a) it's never been done, and (b) it would change what you could do. As for the ultimate instrument, a violin sounds very plausible. Stack a few together with a Carnyx and a Cornu for the bass line (which is rarely complex enough to need anything more advanced) and you'd have pretty much everything a metal band needs. (Having said that, my life's ambition has just become to invent an 8-string violin capable of playing Arabic 17-note scales as well as conventional octaves. Because, well, why not? It'd likely be unplayable, if you could even make it, but I can be sick and twisted. It's allowed.)
