Vivaldi Concerto for violin in E minor RV 273 Giuliano Carmignola at the Enescu Festival Venice Ba

He just couldn't help torture all violinists with his godly technique, Master Vivaldi.😜
I can hear his soul speak.
Extraordinaria interpretación de Carmignola, que emociona. Excelente sonido. Muchas gracias.
Has anybody else noticed how Italy caught up with the authentic baroque performance movement over the past 50 years? It was nonexistent when I was building up my vinyl collection in the 80's. Visit to Rome, Venice and Florence at that time yielded no evidence. There were I Solisti Veneti and other conventional ensembles. Meanwhile authentic ensembles were multiplying throughout the Northern countries, as well as in England and US - then Japan. Now Italy has numerous authentic baroque ensembles. They tend to be of this daring inventiveness and virtuosity, as displayed here.

Quite simply in their blood & culture. Much of it is educated experimentation from musical treatises. Italians know their own music.
Beautiful! Vivaldi wrote some of the best partitions for Violin in the classical repertoire. This is really an amazing piece and played in a superb way by the orchestra. Thanks for sharing it with us Uploader!

you can use a tuner with gut, but i see no reason why he cant use a metal string

It sounds like steel strings... Why could he not play with a steel string ? :)
@TheCreate78

@@rickdeckard1075 Using a fine tuner with unwounded gut strings (which is always the case for the E string) is bootless. The string is so elastic that you would screw for 1 hour and would not have tune the string one tone higher..

He doesn't. These are apparently Dominant. Sound like modern strings anyway. A pity because he can get the brio but not the depth playing those with a baroque bow. Onofri is on another level.
Why shoulder rest?
