I like Vito, but he’s not a saint. He was a dick to Bruno Ravel when he was in White Lion. A complete dick. But I don’t freak out about that, just like I don’t fault Gene for asking him to use a stage name. Most people do use stage names. It’s something to get upset about.

We need more music from Vito. His feel and tone is unmatched.

He was great on record Go back and watch him live though. Really watch and listen. That talent didn't stay at his recording level..when he performed live. As a performer he had no stage presence. Incredible studio musician.

@@seagullpoet They didn't "fire" George. George was never in the band. Tried in 1979 and Randy was chosen over him. Tried in '82, after Brad Gillis left, and Jake E. Lee was chosen over him. Never "fired." Maybe George felt "fired", but he was never in the band, thus never fired.

I've always respected Vito. He's a very straight shooter. His solo on "Wait" is a masterpiece in composition. But regarding the Ozzy gig I have to be honest and say that Brad Gilles was absolutely amazing on "Speak of the Devil." Vito would have been great too but I guess we will never know.

So awesome that Vito is getting the recognition he deserves. I was in the front row at the last While Lion concert in Boston. He played great and after the concert we concidentally connected eyes for a few seconds when he was sitting on the tour bus in the parking lot. His eyes were sad. Would love to see him play again with a great band.

I effin love me some Vito, one of the most melodic rock players i ever heard, he started my love for headless guitars! Dude always made them look so effin cool! Even today im playing a white Kiesel Vader!

Ted Nugent is awesome. I saw him open for KISSS and his 3 piece band blew the socks off of the place, and KISS.

Seen White Lion open for Ace Frehley (Frehleys Comet) back in the day. Great club show

Vito Bratta will never be forgotten . Clearly he Fulfilled his ultimate Fate . White Lion is the Best Thing that ever happened to him and the World that Listens to his / their Music . He is a Forever Guitar Hero because of that Band . His White Lion Song " When The Children Cry " is probably the most Relivant Song there is out there today , and it came out in 1987 . Ozzy and Kiss are a bunch Of Pirates that would have stole his Musical material and payed him Minimum Wage to be a Session Player basically .

White lion pride phenomenal album solid wicked first song to last after that a couple songs here or there

Maybe the name Vito Bratta does sound ethnic, but so does Akira Takasaki, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Matthias Jabs. Any of those guys would have benefited the band.

Gebe and Paul thought the were so clever, trying to disguise their Jewish ethnicity - as if nobody knew! They pulled that "You're too ethnic BS" with JJ French (Segall) from Twisted Sister, when he tried out for KISS. I've heard that same story a few times actually. Sorry Gene and Paul, but the old Hollywood thing of "Think Yiddish, look British" only works when the Jewish kid doesn't look so obviously Jewish. Also, unless you're playing to Palestinians in Gaza, nobody cares that you're Jewish, aside from yourselves.

I'd like to hear him playing Sabbath songs. I can see him doing the Rhoads stuff, but never thought of him being a good Sabbath guy.

That was the KISS alive 3 tour. I was there. I like Ted but I liked White Lion more. I never knew.

Like it or not Gene Simmons had his hand in a lot of cookie jars and had power in that era

Gene & Paul must have permanent PTSD from the NY scene.

I know playing with Ozzy would have been the ticket to fame to every guitar player...but...the fact is that every guitar player who was called by Sharon Osbourne but who DID NOT end up playing with Ozzy got famous anyway, and ended up financially better than the guys who DID PLAY with Ozzy, now, that is not an assumption is the sad truth...In example Vitto Bratta, George Lynch, also I know for fact that Kiss paid peanuts to Bruce Kullick's incredible guitar work, the same would have happened to Vitto, so Vitto should never regret not playing with Ozzy, Vitto is one of my greatest guitar heros of all time...

@rfd73 : I read somewhere that Gary Moore was asked to play in Ozzy's new band before they got Randy. Moore declined the offer because he just formed G-Force....Funny thing is that Glenn Hughes was in G-Force at that time but got sacked because of his heroin addiction. Later on he would get fired from Black Sabbath as well.

You are right, probably, but, like the say "If there is no risk, there is no reward", I think Vitto was willing to play all his coins in White Lion because of his self-confidence, he got to be famous, and way more financially better than he would with Kiss, just ask Bruce Kullick if he was ever well-paid for playing in Kiss, he played for peanuts@@265308

Sharon and Ozzy have burned so many bridges with guitarists over the years.. I'm shocked that Zack has stayed on good terms with them..

He missed out on a chance to be paid a salary by Kiss of $500 week if he was lucky. I guess it might be good for his career later? Vitto was a very melodic, great player. Too bad he hurt his hand and can’t play anymore.

About the time she had a fallout with her Dad!!!!

My kiss audition was a little more fictional, but not a bad experience. I was playing with my band at a skeezy bar for half dozen potheads and on our break I realized there was no toilet paper, but was some New York classified ads and low and behold kiss was auditioning to replace ace again. So I clogged up the toilet with newspaper and went straight home to call the number. It might have been Sharon Osborne but sounded like she was from queens. She said get down to the Marriott by 8:00pm my audition was scheduled and good to go. Having two hours I went into action with my kiss swag and platform boots. I put my hair up as high as aquanet would hold and I think some clear glitter polyurethane. Got my own personalized character make up on. Just as my mom showed up tp drive me. I Grabbed my Les mf Paul because I’m not that big of a dumbass and we got there with a half hour to spare. Fortunately because was a long line. That receptionist was horrible at scheduling auditions. Anyway in a twist of an ace brawl broke out in front of me and I cut in line when the cops showed up once I was in the building. Then all I had to do was start a fire in a garbage can and pull the fire alarm like a hero and they let me right in. Gene was great and was really impressed I didn’t go with ace’s make up. Totally cool like if my dad was bassist and moderate Republican. Paul was really nice too he let me get him a cup of coffee and let me have one too. Eric Carr was the best though as he really liked that I was shorter than him. Anyway for 1:21 seconds I rocked their asses off with a montage of kiss alive II and burning up with fever off genes solo record as who wouldn’t? It went over great except I was too short for Gene and Paul, they didn’t think a panda was a good fit and my name at the time too was too ethnic. I was like oh come on Juan Javier Saint Mojito is too ethnic. I was like finger up pendejos you’re moms are too ethnic. Step off ese I’ll jump up and punch that star. Anyway was not bad audition. I just wasn’t a good fit. Vinnie was. Lolol

Nobody in KISS plays under their real name. Never have. Eugene Klein and Stanley Eisen…. Sharon Osborne is a total slime ball. She’s not worth the trouble. Randy was leaving the band as soon as his contract was up. He was simply fulfilling his obligation and then he was out. Vito got lucky on both of those accounts.

Vito with Ozzy would work very well. Vito in KISS not so much.

Sharon Ozbourne wasn't gonna pay Vito, same with the other guitarists.

Ironically enough,I Saw White Lion open for Frehleys Comet in '87. Both bands kicked ass! We were right up front. I recall Vito slowly making his way to the front of the stage when he solo'd,and how great he played.

Kiss is such a cheesy band, Glad Vito did White Lion and got to show us his real talent

Boring. I'm a guitarist and can play well if I need to.....I don't do guitar solos because people get bored of that fast.

Uhhhhhhh......Speak of the Devil album was all Sabbath stuff on the album. They cherry picked the Sabbath stuff for the album as a big middle finger to the record company. The actual concert they played everything. You go to KZread, this app, and see the actual concert. But the more I see about Sharon and Ozzy I am disappointed. They lied and conived about many things they did to great musicians. They didn't know that the internet was coming right around the corner exposing them. I still love the music but Ozzy isn't a hero to me anymore. He's a bully and Sharon is too. And them refusing writing credits to musicians is criminal. They are not good people. I used to have the nick name Ozz, but I don't like anyone calling me that now because I absolutely loath bullies. 😢 And Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are in the same class! 😢
