This is a tremendous performance! Liszt was very faithful in his transcriptions of orchestral works, and I've always been of the opinion that "Danse Macabre" was one of his very best. Thank you Vitaly!

+Roxas χIII There are indubitably hundreds upon hundreds of pianists she has not seen, so why rain on her parade? I wouldn't have said anything if you had cited certain pianists I am enamored of, but the one you recommended isn't one of them. She can play as well as anyone, but vi- sually she leaves me cold. She lacks that "IT" factor that this pianist has that few possess, and ranks in this re- gard among the greatest virtuosi I have ever witnessed.

Hate and mere dislike are two different animals. I myself cannot comprehend how anyone could dislike this. Makes one wonder if they accidentally hit the wrong button and didn't realize it! I love this. He creates different atmospheres for the different sections, something which even the greatest pianists don’t do well enough, IMO. And this is an orchestra so it demands it. I also find that this Hess rendition is much more tasteful than the Horowitz, as much as we all adore Horowitz.

Indeed, for someone who is not so tall in stature, he is perhaps 5'6. I met him in person in 2008 when he signed his CD I bought after his concert. What a privilege it was.

In my opinion - this Liszt S. 555 is superior to the later Horowitz reworking.
Superb performance! Bravissimo! ....Please do not allow any director to interrupt Maestro's Pisarenko's mastery with frivolous video intersections. His virtuosity SHOULD NOT BE interfered with. Thank you, LASBERGTV!

Mas a maneira como ele toca rápido as partes mais "estranhas" da composição me fez sentir que ele queria passar muito rápido esse momento, creio que deveria ser o contrário, sentir as artes desconcertantes também pode ser bom. To play devil's advocate, maybe they were just annoyed by the camera angles the video was shot, or by the lack of any information in the description, or because the video is listed in the wrong category, or something equally unrelated to the performance. I've disliked other videos myself for reasons like that.
