Vit D research, definitive and significant

Vitamin D supplementation has a protective effect, against the incidence of COVID-19 in RCT studies,
OR 0.403, (95% IC 0.218, 0.747)
In the RCTs performed on HCWs, the overall reduction in risk in the population supplemented with vitamin D was approximately 80%
Against the incidence of COVID-19 in analytical studies
OR = 0.592, (95% IC 0.476-0.736)
Against the incidence of COVID-19 ICU admission
OR 0.317, (95% IC 0.147-0.680).
Our meta-analysis suggests a definitive and significant association between the protective role of vitamin D and COVID-19 incidence and ICU admission.

Vitamin D, crucial roles
Bone homeostasis, muscle function, oncogenesis, immune response and metabolism.
In the context of the COVID-19
Numerous researchers have tried to determine the role vitamin D in the immune response to the virus.
Systematic review and meta-analysis, 15th May 2023
Preventive vitamin D supplementation, 16 publications
N = 1,262,235 participants,
A protective role in
Incidence of COVID-19
Mortality
Admission to intensive care units (ICUs).
We calculated the Odds Ratios
The assessment of potential bias and the evaluation of study quality will be conducted independently by two researchers.
Extra information
The majority of the effects of vitamin D are mediated by the VDR, which promotes the expression of genes containing specific DNA sequences and is expressed in almost all nucleated cells
Approximately 3 percent of the human genome is under the control of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D
Vitamin D has been observed to contribute to the synthesis of defensins,
to be pivotal for enhancing the phagocytic activity,
and to modulate the immune system response by regulating the inflammatory cascade

    thats what most people do, but i am thinking maybe it makes more sense to do the opposite. do not supplement from nov to feb but supplement the spring and summer month, more and more the more sun is. why? because thats what the natural rythm is. does it make sense? is it beneficial? i dont know, but i got a fealing it somehow must make sense in nature that we do not get vitamin D in cold short winter days. i do not need to have D deficiency in winter, but i could up my levels to late october somewhere around 60ng/ml and when stopping over winter month i might be at 30-40ng/ml in march where i would start again with supplementing. any ideas?@@meshell1212

    I have had seborrheic dermatitis most of my life. 10 yrs ago I suffered from debilitating GERD/acid reflux (due to high Stress and bad diet). Allergic to many many pollens. During covid, I went on daily 5000IU Vit D, then up to 10k IU with k2. My GERD vanished, my severe pollen allergies dropped 70%, and the seb.dermatitis just up and fell off my face - 2 yrs ago. Still gone. That sold me. I am on vitD for life and seek the sun whenever possible. Have not been sick since from anything since I went there.

I actually started taking it in 2020 and noticed the change. I played with the dosage over 6 months and figured out it was the vit D making my SD better. I find it much more effective than any prescription cream. It would have been nice to have figured it out 10 years earlier!

    Almost 10 years ago I had a terrible flare up of psoriasis, a disease I'd had for 47 years. I found a site that recommended high (very high) dose vitamin D. 40,000 iu daily for 8 weeks. By week 6 my skin, which had been completely covered with guttate and plaque psoriasis, was psoriasis free. I'll be celebrating 10 years with minimal amounts of psoriasis this coming September. I only take 10-15,000 iu daily now and have never had side effects. And my little dog is 11 years old and I have never missed taking her for her daily walks. Vitamin D completely changed my life. And cutting dairy to the minimum. I had Covid once. It was the flu. I still walked the dog. Thank you for getting this information out. It is so important.

I had a high-school friend at the time who was a retired neuro-surgeon and had devoted many years to the interaction of supplements/food and cancer. One of the Vitamins he proposed I take was Vit. D. I did so, along with a healthier diet and other supplements (too many to remember); and I got a response to Herceptin that only 26 percent of women get. My doctors were "blown away" and said my response was truly remarkable. This cancer has a high return rate. I still take my Vit. D. and am very diligent about my diet. The many other supplements were too expensive to maintain long-term.

It’s very important. You don’t need a nurse, who’s making money off the backs of people who don’t know how to use google to tell them this. Medcram was also putting out this info at the beginning of covid, including NAC, Zinc etc

And now today, another published paper showing that Vit D indeed would’ve been a better/cheaper option for many. My GP thinks my VIt D numbers are high, but I’ve studied and learned a lot. 40 is not a level I’m comfortable with. I also take it with a fat and take K2-7 too. TV channels should be putting the access death numbers up in the corners like they did for over a year when their narrative was supported by them publishing how many people were dying…many WITH not from COVID.

    Similar here. The whole “pandemic” happened without my participation. I never took part in the rituals like distancing, masking, hand-sanatizing, QR-coding, testing, injecting... And I never had “covid”. (And I might be considered “vulnerable group” and never was a super healthy person but rather average with problems here and there.) And most importantly: Since about 20 years I never ever watch tv! I think “covid” spreads through the tv. That may sound silly, but really mean it in a certain sense.

Our water supplies has less of it. It's hard to measure from blood as magnesium is retained in the organs . It improves anxiety and sleep too and heart issues for those deficient . Blood pressure too. Best forms usually are glycinate or gluconate . If based in Australia you may research Xtend-life they are next door in new Zealand and have great understanding for these natural substances . Best wishes

    93 what? ng/ml or nMol/L. If it is the first you are fine, maybe even a bit high, if the second you are still deficient. A number without a unit of measurement is meaningless. I'm guessing (which is a bad thing to have to do) that given your extraordinary dose for a year, it is probably the first, as the 9,000 IU that I've been on has raised even my housebound and sunlight-deprived level to 291nMol/L or 116.4ng/ml over the course of a few years, during which I could not get any doctor to order a test. Now I know, I have reduced to 5,000 IU as I am aiming for 150 - 200 nMol/L or 60 to 80 ng/ml, and I will somehow manage to get my level tested more frequently until I arrive at a good intake of supplemental VitD to maintain my level in that range.
