Since it isn't in the description, and this is a short: 1) GitLens 2) better comments 3) prettier 4) peacock 5) live server 6) vscode pets 7) bookmarks

Don't forget about "Incredibly in Your Face" and "Hot Dog Stand theme" as well
VSpets are a MUST if you don't have a rubber duck.
throwing my 2 cents in, tabout is an extension that allows you to skip past any auto closing syntax by pressing tab. you don't lose indent functionality either, as it only triggers while still inside any new auto-closed syntax. for example when writing a string or function and vscode automatically places the closing quote or parenthesis, after you type in whatever you wanted to, you can just press tab to move past it, absolute game-changer for my workflow

thank you! that's really helpful
Yooo, keep up the great work ❤
I seriously urge you to try the "Night Owl" VS code theme. It's my favorite.
The live server one looks great! Thanks Lewis
Amazing extensions! I'm gonna use all of them. Thanks Lewis
Prettier and Liveserver are a combo.
You're always exceptionally helpful in a time efficient manner!
massive salutes n respx to big brother Lewis…..👋🏻🇮🇹
I use neovim on my arch desktop btw
One of my favs. Error lens: highlights syntax errors as you code (live) => no more missing semicolons or brackets;)
Thanks for the video! Very informative. Peacock looks amazing! Great work!
Thank you for this!
peacock seems to be cool, will try it. I sometimes have 5 projects open or even same project but different environment.
Thanks for being great!
I might not touch grass but now I can talk to my vpets
vscode looks so beautiful when i'm not coding on it
Adding these when I get home.
Great contents Lewis, my question is which vscode theme are you using??
Gitlens is amazing. I used git blame before but the difference is crazy
Thats needed I am Studying Web Development Thanks Lewis
my favorite theme is Shades of Code by solvable
You can get most of these built-in with almost any jetbrains product

Gitlens has saved me multiple tens of hours. Maybe even a hundred. It's an absolute must have nowadays. There's also Gitless if you don't like paying for the features which are behind a paywall.
Half of these I can't even use in my codebase. Neat!
i like the grass one 😊
I recommend some kind of auto save extension
@amrit2057
Ай бұрын
Go to file in the top left side menu and you will find auto save there.. Tick it on and your code will be auto saved
GitLens is very usefull to see what was done in last commits.
incredible watcher is a must have
What I need is my personal choice no one else's!
Let's go! These are great!
This man is multilingual
Prettier is good because you can format it all differently! 😁
I like "Custom Local Formatters" for formatters that does not have an extension
Lunarvim for the win! Never going back
The beat feature VS has is uninstall button , to get a real IDE
vscode extensions you need, if you're a javascript developer - (not really tbh, but almost all of them)
"You haven't touched grass in a week" Me: "Nah, more or like a decade or so"
Live server should come with all code editors lmao.
Peacock is wonderful
I gave a demo with Vs code pets (chicken) and when I asked do you have any questions, the client asked "why there is a chicken on your screen?"
Thank you 🎉
Ty , I use ecams
Can you make more??
Git extension? Have you tried chatgpt and the terminal?
Todo tree.... For better comments and bookmarks in the same extension
VS code user -> I asume you do css after a month long bootcamp, moving from an accounting job
Do jetlab plugins
the best is the vim extension
It's based on your goals
People should make a better commenting script for python because it just seems tedious to make a multi line comment and sometimes my comments mess up my code during run time. I'm thinking something like a free standing comment that's overlayed on the code much like how video games are rendered in layers I think the comments should be as well
i was using Sublime Text before. started a JS project recently, and the next thing I know is I'm using VS code now. how does that work?.. guess I'll need some extensions now, especially the pets one because i don't have a rubber ducky. :(
I’m using most of these plugins
does any one know the theme name that appears in the first shot ????
hey whats that theme name that you showed in the beggening
Comments in code is generally just an antipattern. Use clean code instead. Comments just add an extra layer that cost money to maintain

Ever heard of documentation?
@stefangranath3841
11 ай бұрын
@@thecoolnewsguy yes, and you let the code be so easy to read that it is the documentation. Its so common to forget to update comments after a product ages. Then you do not know what is correct, the code or the comment. Let the code speak of itself. You should instantly know what the code does when you read it, else you are not using clean code principles. More important is to document the intent of the code. What problems is it intended to solve, and why. This you typically do not document spread out in different source files.
@thecoolnewsguy

@@stefangranath3841 Comments are good. The bad programmers are the problem not commenting itself.
I love formatters because I can just spout out whatever I want and clangd/clippy will take the horrific, unreadable hellish whitespace mess i just vomited out and turn it into readable code. I always turn on Format on Save. Should this call chain be put in multiple lines? Ctrl+S and find out!
I prefer the live-server installed in npm globally, cos I can use it anywhere
The pet one is a need 😅
Very nice
"You haven't touched grass" lol
So is VS Code like a really good program made by Microsoft?
Hi, could you do that for IntelliJ? 😀
_The children crave vim_
Wow Peacock, I didn't know, thanks
better comments, peacock, bookmarks, vscode pets
In addition I really like the following extensions: Colorize, Error Gutters, Evodev - Indent Rainbow Palettes / indent-rainbow, Error Lens, Path Intellisense, vscode-icons, Version Lens, And Tabnine.

Live preview is better than live server because you don't need to save and reload the browser

haha yep! It does get pretty heavy after a while
Incredibly In Your Face really helps with errors
Does bookmarks follow line numbers with changes? For example if I mark line 380 but higher up add 20 lines will it go to 400?
Or just using InteliJ based IDEs, where all of the extension are there by default.
vs code pets?! i need it
Live preview has better functionality than live server. It has the live server window and devtools within vs code itself
