Ally! I live in Salt Lake City so it’s so fun to see you here 🥲 fun fact: sooo many DCOMs have been filmed here, not just hsm! We also claim The Luck of The Irish, some Halloweentowns, Go Figure, Pixel Perfect, etc… the whole city is just a big DCOM set!

I’ve actually been here before for one of my sisters basketball games. It was so cool watching her play on the same court as Zac Efron!

I grew up about 45 min from there. We actually got a guided tour while they were in the process of filming the third movie. One of my favorite memories honestly.

I went to East High for my freshman year of Highschool. There are some cool moments I have learned from teachers or students who were there during its filming but there are some sad realities. The biggest crime is people vandilize sharpays locker so bad every year to the point they repaint it EVERY SUMMER. The iconic lunch room steps although some of my favorite musical numbers, all I can think about is upper classmen throwing food down on the lower levels when I went there haha. They are the Leopards not the wildcats as you said. For the movie they also completely redid the boys locker room as they obviously filmed in there but the girls was untouched :( My gym teacher's office is the one they used for coach boltons office and while they were filming he would move things on the desk so they are different in some scenes! They also used a different theatre for the auditorium scenes.

they also built a bit more of the stage and a new gym for high school musical ( i go there now lol so I can attest to what it is like) Never noticed the vandalism on sharpays locker tho. Im a big part of both the theatre and the music department at east and its super fun to go to. It can be annoying having tourists at our school (not in a bad way but you know what i mean). if you want to ask me any questions let me know ill be happy to answer them

@@m333_7 Its more of a cool fact or a joke we make my friend yelled at one of the stars of the tv show once for being backstage during les miserables one thing is tourists all the time making it hard to be at the school after hours to do practices and stuff feel free to ask anything else

I am living in SLC and grew up in utah and remember when they filmed the second movie as several of my friends were able to be extras.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! And so cool that you got to experience this with not many people around!

As a big High School Musical fan I love this so much, next time I go to America I will definitely either visit this or Lava Springs.😍 Also love the editing it's great!!😊

If I have a 5 hour+ layover in Salt Lake City when I’m flying, I am definitely using that layover time to visit East High!

I actually drive pass east high all the time but I have never been inside! 😂 I didn’t know they did tours! I remember when I was a kid my parents would tell me hey that’s where high school musical was filmed! I thought it was pretty cool to live so close to where it was filmed!

This looks so much fun, I'm glad you had a great time!❤ I love that they're opening it for visitors but I kept thinking that this would probably be the size of at least 3 schools combined here in Germany. Our lockers were maybe a fourth of those and most students didn't even get one as there aren't remotely enough for everyone and you have to rent them for the school year.

also I immediately think of getcha get head in the game when I see the gym 😭

I loved this! I wonder how many students go to east high? My high school was pretty big, not as big as this, it had 2 floors and I think my senior class had like 350 students and maybe like 2000 over all the grades. It felt big because it was the biggest in the area

Another update 😂 so I looked at pics of east high and my old school, east high is more compact with 3 floors, mine was mostly 1 floor with just a section being a second floor, mine was more sprawled out space wise. And yes the lockers were that tall 😂 but lockers were optional because there wasn’t enough time to get your things in the 5 minutes they give you between classes so not a lot of people used them.

Sometimes, we need large lockers for winter coats and such. Other times it's just the normal aesthetic.

As someone who went to East high their Junior and Senior year, I can’t ever see East High again. It’s really freaky seeing your high school in other media.
