Great video such a unique place NC, kind of like a French version of North Queensland absolutely loved it especially as you went into the countryside such as Blue River NP. So strange been technically in France and only a 2 hour flight from Brisbane! I was there last August still pretty quiet then only just starting to open up from Covid and the weather was exceptionally mild for a tropical destination!

We just paid by card and, actually, it meant we got a better exchange rate. You can also pay in AUD.

Hello thank you for the video. It's informative. I'm going this October with Carnival cruise. When youre in Noumea, how do you pay for things? Their currency isn't common and I'm not sure how much I should exchange so I'd rather pay with my commbank debit card

Thank you for your kind words. We just used our credit cards at stores and tourist operators. The small market at the cruise terminal will take AUD if you want some trinkets.

After when get off the bus to look around etc at what time did you have get back to the bus, did you do a tour or just walked around. I'm going there October next year, like to walk around sightseeing and get a packet of ufo's

We just wandered around. I guess we went back to the ship about 3ish. You totally have to get UFOs. The supermarket is across the road from the cruise terminal.

hi :) was just wondering if you had to choose between the 2 for a first time visitor to noumea , just stopping at port for one day, between the train and the bus, which one would you recommend please?

The train is a lovely way to see some of Noumea but isn't very active, and you only get off at the lookout. We loved the commentary and the trip, though. If you want a swim, a walkabout and a stop for lunch we would take the bus.

The 15 $ hop on hop off...did you buy in advance?

We just purchased at the tents near the cruise terminal. I think you can purchase ahead of time on their website www.lyvai.com

Yes, it certainly does. This is why you take the last bus time seriously and take your passport with you!

when i was 26 { im 34 now} i went there and saw ufos i ate two packets before i got back on the ship i wish we had them back in Australia
