Visiting farm of IMPORTED GUINEA PIG

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Guinea pigs are very lovable animals. They are very affectionate and have their own personalities, which will become very evident within days after you bring them home. They love to snuggle and cuddle. They will live longer than most other small pets, usually five to eight years. Although guinea pigs are naturally healthy animals and rarely get sick, doing your part to care for them can have a direct impact on how long they will live. All these I proved to be true when I visited a guinea pig farm in the nearby province.

Wire bottom cages are not appropriate for guinea pigs. They can develop bumblefoot and other sores on their feet. I do love to see the passion for guinea pig care!

Hi Scotty, here in our country we use green plastic wires for cages, unlike in the US our weather here is really hot that's why we seldom use C&C cages, or fleece beddings. There are some who uses, but mostly uses that type of cage or rectangular bird/dog cages with plastic wire flooring.

Too many people complain probably have never had guinea pigs. This set up is pretty good. They have fresh grass (better than hay), they have a lot of water, and the metal wire is covered by the plastic mesh which is definitely softer than the ground their feet evolved to walk on. Also, as long as they have unlimited fresh grass, they don't even really drink that much.

Please consider changing your wire bottom floor for something better for guinea pigs. Wire bottom flooring is uncomfortable for guinea pigs and can cause bumblefoot. It seems that you are trying to give them good care. A softer floor to walk on will help their small sensitive feet.

I don't understand the point of making a farm and keep growing more and more guinea pigs when there's a lot of people that don't want to have them and they just leave them and shelters and stuff why don't you build a shelter instead of a farm???also the way that he bait that poor guinea pig , was horrible it was suffering the entire time ,he even let the guinea pig fall in the water ,guinea pigs cannot with their heads or ears, they can not submerging it and that's a totally lie that the guinea pigs swing in deep Waters they don't do that this whole video is wrong.

Rabbits and chickens are also farmed with wire bottoms...and just because sores can happen..it doesn't mean that it will. I am a starting homesteader from the US and this looks like a good farming clean method.

This is terrible for four reasons: unsuitable flooring, no hay, not enough space and no shelter to feel safe . Mesh is not good for their feet, they must have hay available all the time, they need to be able to do circuits, especially young ones, and, crucially they need coverage - they get stressed if they are exposed with no shelter. Cannot watch those piglets with no place to cuddle up against their mother, being fed by her without not even a bit of a cardboard above their heads. A shallower bowl is also so much better than a deep one when they need shampooing. Never handle them like in this video, they need support under their bum. I have had guinea pigs all my life and love them, sorry.

Majority of Farms here in the Philippines only care for the money tbh. Pigs are stacked together in a tight space, chickens too, guinea pigs are in a small and bad cage, syrian Hamsters in a small cage with dozen other Hamsters, People even get dogs with a good breed to breed and sell. And a lot more. And what's more sad is that people who get pets does not treat them properly.
