I wasn’t sure about this, because I enjoy your normal format so much Charlie. But it was a very interesting and informative look at Richard’s layout and you did a great job of highlighting some fascinating details. I particularly like your “honesty” regarding camera work and stuff that sometimes goes wrong in your videos - “that’ll be the phone” :) - and I loved the DMU racing towards the camera, which looks like it was just rescued in time. Interesting, informative AND amusing too - well done Charlie - my Patreon contribution to you is the best value for money I get each month! And finally, thanks to Richard for letting us see his layout and benefit from his ideas and experience.

Hi Charlie - really enjoyed this video. Please thank Richard for being kind enough to share it with us. Loved the way he lit those low-relief shops! Very ingenious! I enjoy all your videos but the idea of an occasional side trip to see what other modellers have done is definitely something I'd like to see more of, along with your wonderful "how to" videos from Chadwick.

What a wonderful layout! Lots going on which is what one wants (particularly at exhibitions, where sometimes there isn't much going on...) Richard must've had lots of fun building it and I'm sure he has a lot of fun running it and sharing it with friends. I watched it all the way through, which doesn't happen with quite a few layout vids! Many thanks, Richard and Charlie.

That was a nice change and a very nice layout indeed. Its always good to see someone else's, appreciating their different techniques, styles and innovations. Particularly like you showing the latter - the expansion tracks, the building copper clad light circuits, quick release plug sockets for shop groups, the peoples pins (seen in Cyril Freezer ' s book) and the cameos plus abundance of cats. Great work Richard and thanks Charlie for showing it all off; more would be welcome. Stephen

Keep safe, and keep us all informed and entertained in these trying times. Michael

Hi Charlie, very nice video. This layout is an impressive piece of modelling. In future episodes, I would appreciate a « guided tour » mainline run, where the camera follows a train along with a voice over presenting the different towns and areas. I think that would give a good feel of the layout, I always have an hard time grasping track plans, but it’s really a suggestion! Take care!

What a wonderful layout built by Richard within his attic. Culverlands is beautifully detailed and is constructed with great skillful use of the space he had to play with. His modelling of scenic areas, buildings, track etc is exceptional and inspiring. I noticed a few nice ideas for myself, along with the parts of the layout features you pointed out too. A worthwhile watch to see other layouts that don't leave home, especially as we can't travel to see any exhibitions or other shows because of the current pandemic. You are onto a winner side project here by doing this with your local area modellers. It gives them and others a chance to show off their layouts and to see them in action. A great little film on Culverlands and I hope to see more of these on your channel Charlie.

As someone who models british trains in the US, these types of videos are invaluable. It introduces products to me I was unaware of and gives me insight as well as ideas I might not otherwise have, especially living so far away.

Hi Charlie. Thanks for this one bud. Great to see a brilliant model railway on dc, more interaction with your layout, must mean more enjoyment.😉 I was a motorman for 14 years and those expansion joints are very important in the open sections, saves broken rails. Another great vlog mucker. Keep safe. Pete and Su.

Yes, a big thumbs up for seeing other layouts and it's amazing what can be achieved in a modest size area. The woodwork looked very substantial and the 2D and 3D works very well and as commented below, the telegraph poles work very well. The rail expansion contraption looks great and if it works in real life, one can see that it will work in an attack on hot days! The class 50 weathering looks really good too! cheers, I enjoyed that.

I was in Panama recently. In the main shopping mall was an O guage railway that ran around the main concourse, however the clever part was that it was totally suspended from the 1st floor. Sitting in the restaurant area upstairs you could look down on it. I filmed it with a Canon camera but lost the footage, however this is a grat use of space..well done Charlie for something diiferent.
