Thanks for show casing my beautiful home city of Birmingham!! I live on the mountain near the Vulcan statue and enjoy the wonderful view of the city everyday! Birmingham offers much natural beauty in places such as the Botanical gardens, Rickwood Field, Arlington Antebellum Home, and museums, such as The Museum of Art and the Civil Rights Museum. Plus Birmingham has great local theater performed in many unique places as well as fabulous bars and restaurants!!

Cool video. When I was a teenager, we would sneak into Sloss late at night and explore all the tunnels and climb the towers. Back when we were kids we had the Red Mountain Museum, which later merged/moved and turned into the McWane center. Vulcan used to have a torch in his hand, which was green on days there were no fatalities due to traffic accidents, and red when there were. Ruffner park was basically just a quarry and woods with a few unofficial trails. I was born just a few miles from there and spent a lot of my childhood in Irondale.

So glad i found this. Thank you so much. I remember going to vulcan several times as a child. I'm about to let everyone know I'm now an older lady lol. But back when we went, no elevator. We climbed the stairs. And believe you me when i say by the time we reached the top. We were exhausted. All in all it was always a fun trip. Thanks again for the memories. Oh i almost forgot if memory serves me. I remember seeing a swimming pool on the roof of one of the buildings.

I was born and raised in Birmingham and its always interesting to see how my city is depicted. This video was a HUGE INJUSTICE. How can you come to Birmingham and not showcase the Civil Rights Museum or The Sixteenth Street Baptist Church. Also FYI Michael Jordan DIDN'T play on that field. That field is a newer development. He played at the HOOVER MET field. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU MAKE A VIDEO.

I am also from B'ham and enjoyed the video. It was meant to be a short video on what to check out in Birmingham, and not a documentary. One thing I have always loved about this part of the South is the charm and hospitality. Don't bash someone's work just because they didn't fit your expectation. While the Civil Rights Museum and the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church are an incredible piece of history for Birmingham, it wouldn't exactly be a fun day for a family with kids. Especially given the area of town the church is located. Just enjoy the positive light being shown on your home town. There is a ton of negative he could have commented on but chose to keep it positive. Have a blessed day!

@@trirunner2520......Great point about it not being a fun day for a family with kids visiting the civil rights places, LoL. I said the same thing. Buuuuut, u touched on the area where the church is not being a good area......ummmm, most of the places he visited are in not so good areas especially Legion Field. Believe it or not it goes down over by the zoo. Yes, in Mountain Brook it goes down too. I guess my point is not bashing the different areas of town. 💩happens everywhere.
