the voiceover on this video is so witty and bone dry with humorous anecdotes. i have always been into space age decor and mod aesthetics and seem to come back to it often... even though whiskey-grandpa-core calls my name all the time haha. really enjoyed this one!

Glad you enjoyed the voiceover hehe I had too much fun with it 😂 Also I love the sound of whiskey-grandpa-core. It sounds so comforting and makes me think of sitting at a fire in an old cabin decorated with upcycled machine parts, listening to an old bearded grandpa tell scary stories. Basically my grandpa (who passed almost exactly 10 years ago) who is responsible for my love of antiques & yard sales 🥲

So many beautiful items 😍 and yes I could spend all day in there. However I agree the prices are a bit rich. I've always enjoyed being taken along tours of second hand stores, so no you don't need to always buy things. That wouldn't be possible. Have a great day 😊 xx

Yeah I treated it like a museum of oddities & artifacts of the past. It was cool to just look at. The staff were also so cool and they have events there that I totally want to go to.

Sacramento has so many amazing antique stores. Midway Antique Mall was one I visited in late September of 2019. I found an amazing 1940s western novelty themed rayon dress for a steal of a price. Racks Boutique was another favorite vintage shop I visited while in the city ❤

The blue velvet chair ❤️❤️ I had an almost identical mustard yellow version that I requested be left when I bought my house. My mother nagged me to get rid of it because it was "old and ugly". I still regret letting it go.

That place is so cool! It’s like a vintage ikea!!

See I feel the opposite about clothing organization in thrift stores. All the ones around here are organized by color. As a bigger girl it’s already tough to fit a good selection of cute clothes in plus sizes at thrift stores but it’s even harder when everything is all together in colors. It’s so much more disappointing to find something cute but it not be in your size. Ideally I’d like thrift stores to be organized by both size and color

That’s strange that they mix all the sizes together at your store, seems like it would defeat the purpose of being organized. The stores I like are usually organized by size and color. They of course have the categories like long sleeve, short etc which are arranged by size and within the size sections it’s arranged by color. Plus size sections are also great. A few of the stores I go to have them.

would love to know some prices on some of the treasures you highlighted. im mad for the @7:53 mid century sofa! the oversized arms?! delightful.

It was kind of a mix on the prices. Some things were under $10 but then there were knick knacks were around $30. Tea sets I saw princes around $120. I think it might have been like other antique malls each section were different sellers operating at Stardust. Not sure but that’s what it seemed like.

I prefer stores to organize their clothes by size. And "just" size. I feel insulted when they have a whole separate section for plus sizes. What? You can't count? After 14 comes 16, then 18 and so on. No need to break it into simpler blocks! Anyways. I loved the store. It looks like a great place for inspiration and maybe even research! 😁

That is so true. They really shouldn’t separate it like that. I think a lot of major retail stores do that to justify increasing the prices. They keep the sections and style selections separate so people don’t go “why does this cost more?” (which is icky and exploitative) - But in a thrift shop they should just have the size ranges and that’s it.

So pretty sure we are kindred spirits..I was for many years dressing fifties and obsessed with mcm. Now I have moved onto or in my case back to grandma cottage core decor and dressing boho... Yes I too have been all o er style wise and also have done ren faire and start hobbies and plan hobbies to start often only to move on. Oh that coat😍 but that cost 😮🙄😣😥 ....anywho not sure YT will show my comment 🤔🙄😐😣so...um...bye ...see you on IG 😘😘
