Visit Cornwall and Stay at the Old School Hotel, Port Isaac or "PORT WENN"

Our Stay in Cornwall vlog features the Old School Hotel in Port Isaac, on the north coast of Cornwall. We chose to stay here, partly to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary but mostly because we were curious about the experience of staying in the village that is famous for being the film set of TV series, Doc Martin.
After taking a look around the room, join us for our evening meal and a wander around Port Isaac in the dark!
In our video we have some suggestions of day trips like Tintagel Castle that you may wish to do if you were to stay in Port Isaac, or nearby.
If you enjoy our Stay In Cornwall vlogs, please consider supporting us on Patreon, www.patreon.com/Cornishwalkingtrails.
Disclosure: We paid for our stay.

Port Isaac looks gorgeous. The Old School House looks like a great place to enjoy an anniversary, too. My husband have watched Doc Martin well over 3 times now especially during the pandemic. We recognized the building where Mrs Titchwell kidnapped Louisa and Martin's baby in the series. We never made it to Port Isaac on our trip to Cornwall but would sure love to see it. The St Nectan Waterfall looked like a great place to see as well. We really enjoy learning about Cornwall in your lovely fun videos.

I fancy Port Isaac but not in summer, far too many tourists. Like you I fancy an autumn or winter break. The wild windswept sea, winter storms, stunning scenery etc. So.....I’ve been looking at the website for The Old School hotel and the food looks phenomenal. Lockdown has been for a reason, but I could just cry at the business’ struggling and the families who have missed their holidays. I have vowed to holiday in the uk for the next few years, my bit towards helping the economy. Oh, and I want to swim in that sea. That hotel looks beautiful. I hope my dear husband and I can get to see this beautiful place soon.

Happy Anniversary guys! Love the video - my favorite so far. "Magical" is the right word for PI for sure. Seeing it at night was a treat too:) My 19-yr-old is on a one-month road trip along the west coast from San Diego to Seattle and back, camping on the beaches. He only has a week left and not ready to come home - now wants to live the van life for a while after college, oh no...help!

@@CornishWalkingTrails We had each our single room and they were both lovely and comfortable. Inger had the "Physics" room. I could barely see anything through my window. The backdrops for a Doc Martin filming session was put up in front of it. But before I realized that; we were approached by the hotel staff. They said that the filming crew were sorry for this inconvenience, and offered to buy us the evening's dinner and a bottle of wine. Which we gladly accepted. We chose a lovely entrecôte and a brilliant red wine ;)

WOW, nice wedding photo and happy 25th wedding anniversary. Nice surprise and a great room with a great view. The Golden Lion looked good and nice place to have a pre walk drink. I had a happy face as well, when I saw that steak, that's what I call a great meal and the breakfast would take some beating as well. I liked the wild ponies on Bodmin Moor and it that were the wildcat was supposed to be? Port Isaac looks great and looks a great base to explore the surrounding countryside, cheers Alan

I think shoe choice will depend on the month you choose. Between May and September, generally we wear trainers but otherwise I would say walking boots. It would probably be best to pack an old pair of trainers that you are not too worried about getting muddy! Sarah :)
