The 90’s American should go to a sketchy basement and buy floppy disks from a hooded figure so he can take them home and use them with his aftermarket SNES floppy disk backup drive. 😂 he should have all sorts of strange accessories like XBAND and the super scope 6

No one. No one who wasn’t there in this magical time can understand what gaming was like then. Every single game was an adventure. A journey. Nothing like this was ever seen before. The beginning. The original. When we played a JRPG it was like diving into a world that became real the moment we turned on our console. Way before competitive online ranked, self promoting social media or let’s plays. No internet for walkthroughs or reviews. Just you and the game, completely diving in into a world that was alive. When gameplay and story mattered more than graphics and frames. Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 7. All these gems that brought the characters and story alive. Those times will never comeback. Gaming will always evolve. But we were there when it was in it’s purist form.

2:15 - So depressing… starts out with a young boy in a sunlit room. Next clip he has friends, by the end of it, he’s a lonely adult desperately reliving his childhood in a dark apartment. This reality of this is so sad.

Nah. Japanese Salaryman. 105 non-working days a year. Expected overtime every day. He doesn't have time to play. The game will just sit there and he will look at the box it before he falls asleep. Assuming he falls asleep in his apartment as opposed to passing out in the street. Wait, scratch that. It's a digital DL so there isn't even a box to look at.
