This reminds me of the simul Garry played where he was told that everyone was rated 2000 or less. But there was one player who was rated somewhere around 2200 and that game ended in a draw. All other matches were won by Kasparov. He then made a point that he would just like transparency when playing.

When one of the 'celebrity' opponents who cheated was boasting about how he just knew how to move the pieces and you can't predict the outcome just like in cricket. Vishy politely asked him to cut the bullshit by saying "If you play chess like this, I really don't want to see how play cricket". That was the subtlest of fuck yous I've seen in a long time.

When you become too rich too soon , your behavior becomes cavalier towards pursuits like games. The whole charity setup was suspicious with 3 guys including him cheating. This guy was the only fool to fully use the engine to win . The others with engines realized the seriousness and conceded on time or lost. Looks like a badly coordinated attempt at gaining advantage without realizing how seriously chess is taken in India and the rest of the world.

Even a super GM like Hikaru who has a better record against Anand, gives him utmost respect and praises him constantly for being one of the best the game has ever seen. Knowing in full fact I'm his prime, Vishy was the better rounded player. That's Hikaru's good nature. And he required no validation from anyone. But some pretentious billionaire thinks his money clears him to do anything to anyone he wants. For someone who probably had to work hard to achieve that success, it's a shame that he doesn't even know how to humble himself in front of a legend like Vishy. Cheating is one thing, but then offering a sorry not sorry apology tweet is downright disrespectful. And then rich people wonder why we hate them so much.
