Serve the food to the god in small bowls on the banana leaf, until then do not have your lunch. After about 5/ 10 minutes take those bowls and pour them in the larger containers respectively , thereby adding the naivedyam back to the utensils. Mix it together. This serves the purpose of offering prasadam as well as serving it to all. Happy Vishu .

This is the traditional way of serving food to Gods in Kerala during festivals and auspicious occasions. It is not a naivedyam as no ritualistic Pooja is done. It is just an offering before we partake of the food. And Vishukani is just a setting of all auspicious things together for the first sight at the beginning of a new year .
