@@DeathMessenger1988 watch it again when viscerys first entered the queens chamber the maester told him that the fetus was in breech and wouldn't turn but the queen was strong and fighting .. later on he told him" during difficult labors .. there is an impossible choice to be made .. either sacrifice one or loose both .. and if they didn't move fast it would be left to the gods .." he didn't say that they couldn't safe the queen instead he just focused on his idea of saving the fetus ... i think the maester knew how much the king wanted a male heir and he was the first one to insinuate to sacrifice the queen for the fetus sake and viscerys went along with him instead of telling him " No .. i want to keep my wife . sacrifice the kid " his love for a male heir was greater than his love for the loyal loving wife he had and that's why he kept his whole life regretting his decision .. and prefering rhaenyra over his other kids .. bc she was the exact image of the woman he loved and killed

@@lokialutt3445 I do like the direction they took it with in the show. Viserys' condition is likely a direct result of Targaryen incest. It seems similar to hemophilia, which can be more common due to incest (the Romanovs had some of it). Hemophilia causes your blood to not clot like it's supposed to, meaning you can bleed out and die from a papercut. Viserys' condition is almost like the inverse. Whenever he takes even the smallest wound, it causes necrosis. And you can rationalise it being canon but not in the books because perhaps the maesters wanted to portray Viserys in a somewhat more dignified manner. A fat man is less gruesome than a walking corpse.

Essentially he’s the one straight man in a chaotic family doing his best to keep shit stable.Remember, once he died his family went all crazy and did the massive disasterous dance of dragons destroying not only most of their own line but almost all their dragons, the one things that kept them in power properly and were their families legacy.He does his best to keep the son in line, get his daughter taught and properly instated as heir and prevent any of them getting on their high horses and starting war.It doesn’t help that most of the Targs in this show and period of history look at everyone else like mere ants, which sure doesn’t do good at getting people to like you.And he’s the only one to actually understand that just cause you have dragons doesn’t solve things.First, they aren’t invulnerable, dragons do and can die by people and so can’t be used willy nilly for every little thing.And, if you want peace, simple ends of problems and good relations, doing things like sending dragons after a ship doesn’t work.He also treats his people with a lot more respect then the other Targs, which you can tell he wants his children to understand that one must not just asume because they are royalty or have dragons everyone will love them.He also loved his wife, you can tell he’s seriously annoyed when he gets interrupted with her because his children are fucking things up again.And, most importantly like Tywin Lannister, he knows that a member of royalty must be proper and give a good impression.That means being on time for events, with proper appearance and behaviour, being polite and civil when with lords and ladies, not rushing late for events or deciding to just jump in to do whatever they want.Poor guy, he ran a good reign, and was disgusted at the idea of wedding a child, he loved his wife, he wanted his family to do well, and enjoyed simple things like wine.And right after the family destroyed itself and their dragons.

Vizzy T did not have enough time to know how to rule a kingdom. The old King Jaehaerys had two sons, Aemon who is his heir and father of Princess Rhaenys, and Baelon who is his spare and father of Viserys. Both of the sons were close and would've made a great King and Hand. Both were trained to rule and support each other. Yet tragedy had to strike upon Aemon's death because of a Myrish Pirate missing Lord Tarth. Then Baelon died of a burst belly. For someone being so wise, King Jaehaerys did not anticipate the death of his two healthy sons and neglected to groom his grandchildren for ruling. Yes both of his sons were at the age of thirthy and healthy yet they both died before they can rule.

Jokes aside, the biggest tragedy is how the man withered away physically and mentally to maintain peace.
