This virus was one of the most obnoxious ones I've ever tried to record for a video. This is the result of my descent into madness versus Caw.
this is one of the first videos where I really tried tweaking and adjusting the color balances throughout. For whatever reason, the Red Blocks background looked great on the phone camera and when I recorded it, but whenever I played it back on my PC the blocks were pale shades of orange instead of the vibrant reds they should be. Hopefully I didn't screw it all up. If you actually read this, give yourself a pat on the back, you rock.

Man, as much as you normally use Windows 98 for Win9x-based stuff, it’s awesome to see Windows 95 be used. Sure 98 is better in every way, but there’s such a nostalgic charm about 95, to me, that makes me prefer it over 98/SE.

  • @danooct1

As it turns out, I initially tested this on 98. All the stuff was the same, but instead of freezing with the green bar on top of the screen, the computer tended to BSOD and then either return to windows normally or freeze after that. But the nail in the coffin was the custom file extension deletion wouldn’t work in 98, but did work in 95, so 95 it was.

  • @cyberparrot

That "old disk utility" error looks really, really old. It's probably in the code from before 3.1 ... There is an error in Win 7 (not sure if still on 10) that's from 3.1...which is ancient. It pops up if you run some EXE files from Windows versions before Win 3.1 . The exact same one pops up in 3.1, so I know it's that old...it's strange to see Windows 7 going _hey, this file is for Windows versions older than 3.1, sure you wanna continue?_ 😂😂 Maybe this one is still somewhere in the code, but it'd be really hard to get

i remember we had to go to the computer store on Dec.31, 1999 to get the new computer, it was a Pentium 3 500Mhz, with 64mb or 128mb of RAM i think, Sound Blaster Live, Voodoo3 3000 AGP, a 13gb hard disk, a cd writer. It ran for many years on a 250W power supply, i think i had this computer for like 6 years, i had to change the CPU fan on it, the power supply, changed the Voodoo3 for a Geforce2, added a DVD drive, and i think i maxed the RAM on it with 3 x 256mb PC133 sticks, changed the power supply too, because for some reasons, it was acting up like everytime i was cold-booting it, it was opening a drive door (this stopped when i changed power supply). The board i had was very limited in CPU upgrades, i think the maximum was a Pentium 3 550Mhz on it, so...it wasn't worth upgrading. I ran Windows 98SE for the longest time, and when i got my Athlon64 in early 2006, it was Windows XP SP2. But i never got this virus, AFAIK, but i think i did got a few viruses, like one that make your cursor go crazy and makes you do weird stuff, or also one that doesn't let you open My Computer the intended way. I also remember a virus, if it's one, that wouldn't let me shut down my computer the intended way as well, i had to use a command line, so i made a Batch file and put on the desktop, so i won't have to type it everytime.
