Virtually Indestructible Flashlight vs Harbor Freight Free LED Light

The all-new flashlights from Kobalt are said to be Virtually Indestructible Flashlight so today we will kick off a series where we will test if this flashlight is truly virtually indestructible. We see how they hold up Kobalt vs Harbor Freight free flashlight. Virtually Indestructible Flashlight vs Harbor Freight Free LED Light... Let's find out!
This video is not sponsored by Kobalt or Lowes. I purchased the flashlight with my own money at Lowes and the Harbor Freight was free with purchase.
The Virtually Indestructible Flashlight Kobalt Flashlight found at Lowes Home Improvement store comes in 4 different sizes as well as different super-bright LED output lumens.
Each flashlight is engineered with a durable aluminum body and rubber casing for a secure grip as well as superior shock resistance if dropped up to 9m or 29.5 feet for ultimate durability.
These new Virtually Indestructible LED Flashlights are also said to withstand water submersion (up to 1 meter) for 30 minutes (IPX7 rated). The IPX7 rating means that the light is waterproof when submersed in water at a depth of one meter, for 30 minutes. Unless you require a diving light or flashlight that needs to be underwater for more than half an hour, a light with this rating should meet most of your needs.
The new Virtually Indestructible Flashlight carry a lifetime warranty that offers peace of mind and manufactured for tough job sites, household work, garage tasks, and more....

I keep one of the free HF lights in the house and one in each car. Very handy.

I don't use those free HF lights. Lumen output is low and you have to use a screwdriver to replace the battery. I gave it to my nephew to use. I highly prefer my $1-2 Chinese eBay LED lights over HF freebie one. I can just throw in a rechargeable 18650 cell or a AA battery depending on the size of the flashlight for around the house work. I use 18650 rechargeable work lights(usually built in but some are easy enough to take apart to replace) when I am working on the car or outside when it's dark. Perfect to get some work light at night that is almost like daylight positioning with the magnets on the work lights

I might have to get the Husky Virtually Unbreakable Aluminum Pen Light with Clip as it looks nearly identical. However I would bet the Husky warranty is easier.

This is the dumbest “test” I have ever seen. Who is ever going to smash another cheap plastic light with another flash light?

Those HF lights USED TO BE free. It looks like those days are over for the lights and other stuff as well. But those little HF lights are handy.

I do have a “Police Security” LED pocket light from Harbor Freight and it’s been great! Just a single AAA and it’s been dropped in water, on concrete, etc and still works great! Like $5 with a coupon!

I can't get my cobalt like to quit blinking as soon as I turn it on. It starts blinking and it will not quit regardless of what I do to the button

I bought an energizer from Costco for ~$15 thats still on its first set of C's, I'd like to see that compared to something like that Kobalt with its smaller cells

Get a Wowtac or Sofirn from Amazon for similar money instead with 18650's and have something that's rechargeable and more output for a lot less weight, more light and tint options.

They look nice but are not indestructible... their biggest flaw / weakest link is the batteries! Leave them in there for a few months, they’ll leak and destroy the internals! I have to pass on pretty much any non-rechargeable lights!
