We lived across the street from where the Gene Fullmer Recreation Center is now, it wasn't built until after we moved away. West Jordan is a nice place to live. Regarding the schools, the eastern portion of West Jordan are the older homes with many lower-income areas. The western part of the city are newer homes and certainly, newer schools.

I actually live in one of the West Jordan's newest neighborhoods (approx) 1 mile (+/-) east of the Oakers and the Bingham copper mine at what they call 'the Bingham Highlands (or what we call 'the upper west bench') and there are still plenty of brand. New streets in not only our newer neighborhood being layed down with new homes being built here, but there are also quite a few new single family home neighborhoods, and Apartment & Condo complexes being made about a mile or two below us to the east of our neighborhood even now along the 5600 West transit corridor. But even in our area out west we have a school count in our area which includes 1-highschool, 2-Intermediary/Junior highs, 4-Elementary/Primary schools, 1-Private Acadamy, and numerous pre-school & nurseries all within that 1-2 mile radius of my families house and neighborhood, so one thing we have got is plenty of seats for children of all grades to have in our area and all of these schools are quite recently built with the newest Elementary being opened only last year, so our area is anything but stagnant in its growth...
