I ABSOLUTELY prefer this method of ROM hacking. All you need is the patched ROM file. That’s IT. I’d been trying to run No Mercy hacks and they’re so bloated with their extra folders/textures, flowcharts & diagrams to get everything running that I just gave up and made the CAWs of the guys I wanted to add to No Mercy the old fashioned way. lol

This absolutely blows me away. I wonder if it would be possible (based on the limitations of the original source code) to put together a game that combines the best aspects of VPW2 and No Mercy? I'd love to see a mod that includes the depth of CAW creation of both games (mask edits and entrances from VPW2 and better sprites/ minute costume edits from No Mercy) with the advanced mechanics of VPW2 (combo system, final finishers, etc). This channel is awesome, by the way, and I've got a wealth of No Mercy CAWs that I'm happy to share if you're interested. Keep up the amazing work!

Great mod just wish they had all the right themes, and extended the room for names and such. I even made Ultimate Warrior among other wrestlers. Good thing the dude who made it left those slots. Kinda helps you put in some legends you'd want

Would really like to play this hack. Unfortunately I can't find a .z64 file of the rom anywhere. Checked all my usual sources and no dice. It looks really nice.

Try renaming the format from whatever it may be for example, .n64 format, just rename it so it is in .z64 format.

Long time fan first time commentor the Freem edition is easy I got it done on a comp without admin access... Just saying.. Anyway I've got a fairly decent Kota Ibushi And Iishi on a stock 64 I'd like to share with you.

And can you make a very short tutorial onto how to install freem edition on virtual pro wrestling 2 thank you

Would you do a caw videos for freem edition too?

Did you use a wrong version of the hack here? It's clearly missing some stuff that came with the February update, like you still have the old Sting paint which was replaced with the one from Revenge or Undertaker's tattoos missing for example.

Is anyone else experiencing slow-downs in tag team matches on the Project 64 emulator? Single matches work fine, but tag matches lag considerably.

I believe Freem said it was a lot harder than he originally thought to change that, so I don't know if he'll ever do it but I know he would've like too

tbh undertaker was one of the wwe superstar to wresle in NJPW

I'm watching this in 2023 is the game still being updated? I'm not an emulation person other then 8bit and 16bit anything after that my slow laptop can't handle. I'm interested in a cartridge version of this.

The person who made the ROMHack is still working on updates yes. Last I heard they might release another update sometime this year. If you go to the website for the game, you can join their Discord to keep up to date with it. I would suggest making your cartridge, it's fairly simple if you just order the pieces, or if you have an Everdrive you can load it onto that (this is how I play it). Do not buy cartridges with this on it, as a) the creator Freem sees no money from it and people steal his work b) it'll usually have an outdated version on it and you're better off making you're own so you know how to update it when need be. Hope this info helps!

Why is my wrestlers still in Japanese after using xdelta

Anyone know of any other AKI game rom hacks like this that I can find? Preferably some No Mercy kinds? I heard that some people had started working on some at the beginning of this year but haven't heard much else. Would love to see someone like freem make some sort of epic No Mercy rom hack.

Most of the No Mercy mods that I know of require emulators...but maybe when Freem is ready to release his tools, we might see more ROM hacks similar to this for the other AKI games.

Why don’t they just do what Pokémon ROM hackers do, and then ship it with the rom so it’s easier to set up and more people play the game

Check out the channel "Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 Matches". He did a full texture dump of both wrestlemania 2000 and wcw/nwo revenge. Much higher quality models as opposed to these caws.

Yes thanks for the tip I checked it out briefly, wondering how he did it and if it was similar to Freem's process....and also if his method can be used on an Everdrive as well. Might need to ask that in the comments.
