I recently ended a relationship with a man much younger than myself. I knew from the beginning it was something that couldn't last forever. I knew he wanted children one day, and that was something I couldn't give him. I knew the longer i stayed with him the more it was going to hurt when it ended, but I went and fell in love and stayed for 10 years. It hurts like hell that I had to walk away. Ever since it ended I've been angry at myself for staying in a relationship for so long when I knew it had no future, because now I'm alone at 61, feeling like my chance at love has passed me by.
