Yeah, I don't understand why the writer's made this choice after the twins paternity and not knowing whether Jack was the father of Mel's baby. All that anguish and pain and Mel miscarried 😢😢

@@madjames2392 I agree for shock value also. They spend enormous amounts of times belaboring a point only to have nothing happen . The whole Charmaine baby daddy thing was a travesty really. To put Mel and Jack through all that she did all because she was jealous ? Grow up. They spent from S1 Ep8 to S4 E10 making us believe that Jack was the father . And then to find out he was not was just a waste of time. I am rewatching the previous seasons after viewing S5 and almost everything that happened was a lie. All made up (of course everything is made up as it is a show lol ) but the bottom line is the viewers were manipulated the entire time. And then for the storyline to just be over in 5 minutes with little emotion ? Come on.

I was so looking forward to seeing Mel and Jack go through this pregnancy with a live birth...only for it to last a little more than a season (about two months TV time) since she found out she was pregnant. Instead is was abruptly ended with a miscarriage....these two need a break (the viewers need a break from all the stuff that gets in their way). Disappointed is an understatement. Ugh. I was so looking forward in the next couple seasons to see their baby and how it looked and acted similar to them both. Does anyone feel the same?

I believe in season 5 mel really handle the lost of her baby with courage and strength. They both play a vital role in season 5. These two have go through the rock tunnel altogether with enough strength and faith.

Damn I was right that Calvin is still alive but never guessed he would be tha father of the twins. But I had a theory since s.1 that Doc could be Mel's father because there is that special connection but then I thought I thought it could be jack but we saw his dad 😅 can't think about anyone else than Doc or that guy who has the airplane bec he was adopted remember and had a connection with Mel. But now I figured it out. It's lily's husband 😄 makes all sense now. Mel us buying the farm and she has that connection to lily's oldest daughter and she donated to Tara before. So that way she finally gets a child in Cloe. I think flashbacks of Mel is proving that Mel knew all along. She must have found that letters as well and that's why she came to VR in the first place But on the letters his name.is champ like Charlie maybe and preacher said: still right here in VR but the look on his face was like there is just a grave maybe. So I stay with lily's dead husband

I have to agree with the previous comments. I had high expectations with the teases shared that Jack & Mel would deepen their love especially after the engagement & paternity. It was a cheap shock value for the show runner & writers to deliver a cruel blow to Mel & Jack. It's a fine balance for fans of the books & TV storytelling. Alex & Martin performed wonderfully with the subject matter. We need that 'comfy blanket' to continue not more darkness. Love Virgin River but am disappointed with Season 5...

One of the best shows I've seen in a long time it doesn't drag any situation out it gets right on with it in in the good bad or whatever it's a wonderful inspiration to people in many ways and how to handle things and how to love one another and stand beside and give them strength and have a half your friends it has so many wonderful messages to it that are true life stories I love this show it is just absolutely astounding and they've done a wonderful job the actors are perfect for the Roles they play the acting is the the scenery is it just touches my heart every time I watch it to see the things that they saw their love and caring for one another and best friends

Oh my gosh this is one of the best shows I've seen in a long time it hits all kinds of things that go on in real life and how people handle them and there's so much love and and for each other in the town backing up each other it's an inspiration to watch I love it

I was super sad about their loss 🥲 I was looking forward to them having a baby, especially because Mel has went through 4 miscarriage! Why just why?! This season was sad and didn’t really make sense.

One of my best girlfriends turned me onto Virgin River, and I was immediately hooked. They don't drag on any scenarios but rather move to the next. Reality is what reality is, and although so tough to watch the pain, through the beauty of love, losing a child was so well done, tears were certainly in order. Then they moved on, in a positive fashion, which is as it should be. Helpful and hopeful to encourage those who have lived through this pain. Keep those seasons coming, can't get enough, and miss the show & cast, they feel like family!

Mel and jack need to get married and have kids ❤that’s what make the show special and don’t get in bed fully dressed

I don't know why they would lose one of the sisters that we know to introduce another one that we never heard of either. Unless it is just for diversity as I did read that all the new additions would be to round out the cast for diversity . Or you could be on to something

I was sad for Mel & Jack's loose of their baby. Glad Brady is proving he could take the evil drug dealer.

well she certainly has a connection with him. But not sure of the timing though. He talks about sleeping with Charmaines mother 20 years ago. Assuming Mel is mid 30's I think he would have been married to Hope then. He has said he only ever had that one slip of being unfaithful and Denny's grandmother would have been before Hope. Well it will be whatever the writers want it to be lol

Why don't they just burn the poor woman at the stake and put her out of her misery? Life today is miserable enough without hurting our fictitious escapism as well. They make us fall in love with these characters and then destroy them in front of us. Well done 😡

I enjoy the original books about Mel and Jack in Virgin River but the TV show has created a very different story line. In the book Mel gives birth to a beautiful healthy and adorable little boy called David.

S5 was my least favorite season.

I have to agree. From a fans perspective there was not much to root for. However the actors and cast outdid themselves working the script and the wildfires was done extremely well I thought. Oh and those kids throwing a water balloon at Jack was just to funny. He will definitely be a great father if those darn writers smarten up lol

I just hope that she has a baby of her own in the future her and jack deserve that to happen it was very sad about there losing the baby but I still love this ❤ show

I am done 😭 💔the show ruined it , giving is women hope that after many tragedy it can be oke. So this was the best storie line . Now i am over the drama on top of drama. Good bye. Will watch the last 5 in 1 hour scrolling. Hoping that the end is better. 😢💔

the more I think of it the more I have to agree with you also. I am rewatching the early seasons and it is literally making my blood boil at how manipulative that Charmaine is ( not to mention annoying with that pitch of her voice either), She really is evil and he is lucky to have seen the end of her. However they are ruining the holiday shows by having her have the babies then which is annoying as I just really want her gone. Although her and Calvin might be fun to watch hahahaha I just hope that Jack does not cave in and get all dewey eyed when the twins are born.Just walk away Jack

@@brendabannister5930 Hmm, Calvin is an interesting theory, I hadn't thought of that. If Mel is supposed to be around 40ish, if he was a teen Dad, he could have been. He's 58 in real life and she's 41. The way they address age in the show is a little unusual. In the show, Mel is supposed to be the older sister but in real life, Jenny Cooper who plays Joey, is 8 years older, and looks it. Most of the actors are in their 40s and 50s but having babies and talking about starting families. Preacher is 53, Charmaine is 52, Jack is 48. Denny and Lizzie are pushing 30 but talking about college. Lilly, who just had a baby is a whopping 58. Doc is 75 and Muriel is 60, Dr. Cameron is 45. It's hard to know how old anyone is supposed to be. But it could be Calvin...

Yes all the bad things are directed at the main stars of the show . Hard to keep rooting for them knowing full well the writers are not on board with anything good happening to them.

Mel became too nauseating for me to continue watching.

I really dislike mels character and jacks character. Those two drive me nuts.

Well Netflix there are no surprises with you VR 6 we don't see it until 2025 I do not know why we bother with you because you do t deserve such loyal fan we should all unsubscribe to you how will you Executives feel then ??
