Clearly overall season 5 was a big disappointment and I hope the writers get back to focusing on Mel and Jack because that’s the reason we all watch VR

I completely agree as well. Seasons one through four were fantastic and I don't know why the writers did what they did to Mel and Jack in season 5. I can't get over the fact that they lost a baby and yet Charmaine got to be pregnant for five seasons. They've been through enough and I want them to get married and have a baby of their own and just be happy. They really are the reason everyone watches Virgin River!

Mike appears two times on screen with Brie while Brady gets inmate scenes, writers need to stop BS fans, not Triangle and whatever they want to call it. If writers want her to be with Brady let her be with him. Brie is laughing at dinner with Mike trying to kiss Brady. The writers have written Mike as a crook, shady, and all sorts of things. He only person of his race and to add to the insult he is supposed to actually get a girl is written like he is not supposed to and hates what he gets, why not kill off the character. Mike's character has been disadvantaged from the beginning where Brie and Brady have approximately three seasons of relationships while he receives judgment for being boring and they lack chemistry with her while previous writers have never really invested in him. and her. Mike is a prop writer stop it. My favorite couple is Mel and Jack, it is just an observation after watching really disappointed in this aspect of the show.

It seems like Netflix has a nack for ruining good TV show with wokism... Season 5 was awfull. What a shame! I loved this series.

I dont think it is awful, it was one of the good season. If just see the message. How the people helped each other during the forest fire . How they rose from the ashes. Many suffered tremendous loss but you can see & feel the sense of community . Some risking their lives to help others. If you also remember what Brie said during the hearing about real heroes who push past their fears to help other etc.... It's a damn good season.

I watch season 5 and I was also also disappointed with the all of it. I really hoping Mel's bio father would of turned out to be someone that she already new like Doc . I really didn't like were the writers have taken this show . From the time Mel and Jack lost their baby and how Brie and Brandy move on so fast from there breakup . This show needs to get new writer or bring back the one who left .

Doc being the father would be pretty lazy. Plus his storyline already involves meeting an unknown progeny (Denny). Brie and Mike had backstory already, he isn't a stranger she just met, and Brady's new girlfriend...well without spoilers, there is a reason she made herself available to him to quickly. I don't think the writers are doing anything wrong here.

The spa scene with the ladies was the only part of season 5 I thoroughly enjoyed. I didn’t even bother paying for the extra month to watch part 2.

I had such a great theory but they just took a random guy 😅. Or NOT 😮? I got 3 theories what he was about to tell Mel. 1: the most possible one. He is dying. 2: the crazy one 😂 but why does the guy look like Doc. Just 5 years younger. Could they be brothers but haven't talk for years. Would be nice to have Doc. Being her uncle 3: this is a funny one but makes sense if you think about it 🤔 Eva is the key to this , since I always thought that Buck is mels father but she is there for a reason and I think the reason is that she is mels half sister and yes, they have the same father anf that his secret. He had an affair with Lilly when he was younger because Eva us also the oldest child of Lilly. Or he is the father of Cloe because Lilly was pregnant with Cloe 3 months when he died and how could he probably made her pregnant when he was very sick? So Mel's father could be the one again here. And we all know that Mel is gonna end up with Cloe eventually 😊 that way it makes sense 😮

The last two episodes are so disappointing.

And where was Mike? I don't know is this the end of the show, but for me, it is... Writers are not consistent, and deviations from the books are iritating... it's like social networks write the show, answering on question : who do you like more, Brady or Mike? It's the end of fifth season, and Mel and Jack have only puppy?!

Probably the story has not yet finished here.Brady and Brie are going to be together. Actually I was thinking about that if They were meant to be together how painful it would be for Hazel. She looked like a nice girl too. How could the writers get rid of her? But now we know that how. That telephone call told everything.And other lines were cut in a weird way. So I am sure there will be more season(s). Oh, Preacher and Peagion's crime story will also continue. That phone call between the two P's wasn't just a Christmas wish call. And I missed Conie. And what about Lily's baby?

I'm so confused. I just watched the two new Christmas episodes today. Nothing exciting happened. Is this it? Is the show done?

Yes if the show is going to be this bad it’s done. What a shame!

I am disappointed in this aspect of the show. I am not a Brie and Brady fan and will never be people see chemistry and attraction all I see is lust. I prefer Mike. I asked VR if anyone read this why break up Brie and Brady and use Mike as a prop or obstacle in relationships if all the writets already team Brady and Brie. Yes has a Mike minor part in the series but is a main character in the book and there are actual fans who ship them in the series and book. All VR writers needed to allow Brie and Brady to sort themselves out until they were put back together.

Show is great in so many ways but the overall message is love and relationships are messy and dangerous. My thoughts are why bother with love. Dump it! Learned this from virgin river.
